Ohio football coach Brian Knorr scored a recruiting victory when he received a verbal commitment from Lafayette (La.) St. Thomas More defensive back Dustin Tatum. Dustin, the brother of Ohio linebacker Spencer Tatum, chose Ohio over Syracuse. As a senior, Tatum had 45 tackles, 7 pass break-ups and an interception. The 5-11, 175-pounder runs a 4.4 40-yard dash and also had scholarship offers from Mississippi St. and Cincinnati.

Ohio Head Football Coach Brian Knorr announced today that the Bobcats will pursue a new offensive coordinator for next season. Greg Gregory, who has been the offensive coordinator for the past three seasons, has been relieved of his duties. He becomes the second coordinator to be let go during Knorr's tenure. Defensive coordinator Tim Kish was not retained after the 2001 season, his first and and only season with the Bobcats.

A miserable 2003 campaign for the Ohio football team came to an end Friday as it was shut out 28-0 at Marshall. The Bobcats (2-10 Overall, 1-7 MAC) finish having lost six in a row and 10 of their last 11. It marks the second time in three years that Brian Knorr's team finished last in the MAC East. Ohio suffered a 49-31 loss to 18th-ranked Miami Saturday afternoon at Peden Stadium. The 49 points are the most scored by either team in the 80 meetings between the two schools. The RedHawks' Ben Roethlisberger completed 19 of 28 passes for 294 yards and four touchdowns in leading his team to a 49-10 lead.
