AMHERST, Mass. – After going back and forth with Ohio for 34 minutes, UMass went on a late 11-point run to wrap up its regular season with a 94-82 victory Tuesday night at the Mullins Center.
There were nine ties and 15 lead changes before the Minutemen went ahead for good on a Luka Damjanac fastbreak layup with 6:16 remaining.
Jackson Paveletzke led the Bobcats with 24 points and seven assists, while Javan Simmons had 16 points and five rebounds. Kiir Kuany, starting in place of JJ Kelly, scored 13 points with five rebounds in 27 minutes. Aidan Hadaway tallied 11 points and seven rebounds.
Marcus Banks had 31 points to lead the Minutemen. Leonar Bettiol added 17 points, and Dann Carbuccia tallied 13 points
