The Ohio Defense (Green) used a touchdown and four turnovers to post a 57-33 win over the Offense (White) in the annual Green and White Game at Peden Stadium Saturday afternoon. S Chip Cox scored the Defense's touchdown after he picked off a Ryan Hawk pass that bounced off WR Scott Mayle and raced 62 yards to paydirt. For the second straight year, an Ohio football player was waiting for his name to be called in the NFL Draft. Last year, Bobcat punter Dave Zastudil got the word that he was a fourth round draft pick of the Baltimore Ravens. This year, running back Chad Brinker waited but didn't get the call. Philip Fountain, a sophomore fullback on next year's roster, snags a one-handed reception during a Monday practice at Peden Stadium. A Georgia native, Fountain is one of many new talented newcomers on Ohio's offense, which returns only three full-time starters from last season's team. The "Big Uglies" got a boost this week when Ohio football coach Brian Knorr announced a new line coach and a new lineman.

The lineman is JUCO Henry Valencia, a 6-3, 310 standout at L.A. Harbor College, where he teamed with fellow Bobcat signee Ralph Bracamonte for the Seahawks. Unlike Bracamonte, Valencia, although he has graduated from Harbor, will not be available for the Cats until summer camp due to scholarship numbers.

For the second straight year, Ohio football will be represented in the Hula Bowl as running back Chad Brinker has been selected to play in the February 1st contest. Last year, punter Dave Zastudil participated and was later taken in the 4th round of the NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens.

The UCF offensive attack proved to be much for Ohio as the Golden Knights won a 42-32 shootout over the Bobcats Saturday afternoon in Orlando. The loss means a 4-8 finish to the 2002 season and a .500 (4-4) conference mark. UCF finishes its first season in the MAC with a 7-5 overall mark including a 6-2 record in league play.
