For the second straight year, Ohio football will be represented in the Hula Bowl as running back Chad Brinker has been selected to play in the February 1st contest. Last year, punter Dave Zastudil participated and was later taken in the 4th round of the NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens.

The Martins Ferry native ran for 1,099 yards (4.8 average) and 10 touchdowns in 2002. He caught 13 balls for 115 yards and a TD. Brinker also threw a 58-yard touchdown pass versus Marshall. He finished his Bobcat career with 2,826 rushing yards, fourth on the all-time list.

Brinker's squad will be coached by Miami's Larry Coker, Minnesota's Glen Mason, Marshall's Bob Pruett and Mount Union's Larry Kehres. Some of his teammates will include Ken Dorsey (Miami), Byron Leftwich (Marshall) and a pair Ohio State Buckeyes, Matt Wilhelm and Chris Vance.

The Hula Bowl will be held at 9:00 (Eastern Time) in Maui's War Memorial Stadium and will be televised by ESPN.
