It's no secret that Frank Solich would like to run the football a lot. Sophomore running back Kalvin McRae is ready to carry the load. He was the only Bobcat back to carry the ball vs. Northwestern as he ran 10 times for 34 yards while catching two passes for 23 yards. Northwestern quarterback Brett Basanez proved to be too much for Ohio as he led his Wildcats to a 38-14 win Saturday afternoon in Evanston. The senior QB completed 27 of 37 passes for 353 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another.

Ohio will host Pitt Friday night in a game that will be nationally televised on ESPN2. The Panthers dropped their opener 42-21 to Notre Dame.

While Ohio searches for playmakers on the offensive side of the ball, it already has found one on defense in junior middle linebacker Matt Muncy. Muncy's stats from a year ago are very impressive. He led the Bobcats last year in tackles (78), tackles for loss (10) and sacks (5). A knee injury kept Hackett out of the opener last year and he never really got involved with the offense making just nine catches on the campaign.
