Wright entered the season as the leader of all MAC players with 26 passes defended. The junior has returned two of his seven career interceptions for touchdowns. Ohio offensive lineman Paul Johnson is part of one of the most improved units on the football team. Last year, the Bobcats rushed for 2.9 yards per carry and quarterbacks were sacked 55 tmes. This season, Johnson has moved in as starting left guard on a line that has helped Ohio to a 4.2 yards per rush average and just six quarterback sacks. Coming off a 45-0 loss to No. 4 Virginia Tech, you might expect the Ohio Bobcat football team to lack confidence as they head into Saturday’s MAC opener against Kent State.

On perhaps the biggest stage in Ohio football history, Bobcat Dion Byrum's star shined bright. In front of the largest crowd ever in Peden Stadium and a national TV audience on ESPN2, the senior cornerback returned two interceptions for touchdowns. His second was an 85-yarder in overtime that delivered a 16-10 win for Ohio.
