After sitting out last season following his transfer from Illinois, Brad Bower figured to be a leading candidate to start the 2006 season as starting quarterback. It seems like senior wide receiver Scott Mayle has moved as quick through the Ohio program as he does through an opponent's secondary. He ranks fifth all-time in receiving yardage with 1,436 and is third with 11 TD catches. However, the Philippi, West Virginia native is looking to improve upon 2005. Ohio's returned focus to the running game last season meant plenty of opportunity for Kalvin McRae. The junior from Decatur, Georgia was up to the challenge. While fellow cornerback Dion Byrum got most of the press last season, T.J. Wright quietly went about having his best season. In fact, the senior from Beaumont, Texas is quietly moving up the charts as one of the best cornerbacks in Bobcats' history. His 9 interceptions are 11th on the all-time list.
