Ohio has announced the signings of Illinois point guard Jeremy Fears and Baltimore-area power forward Leon Williams to National Letters-of intent. The 6'3" Fears is rated as one of the 10 best players in Illinois by Prep Spotlight. Fears averaged 20 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists per game last year for Joliet Twp. Ohio continued its shooting woes falling to UC-Irvine 63-60 in its third game at the Dell BCA Classic Monday afternoon at the Cintas Center in Cincinnati. The Bobcats (1-2) shot just 30% for the game and just 26.5% in the second half. Jeff Halbert was the only Ohio player in double figures with 15. The Anteaters (2-1) were led by Ross Schraeder who had 17 points thanks to 5-for-6 shooting from 3-point land.

Ohio got into the win column after edging Coppin St. 51-47 in the second round of the Dell BCA Classic Sunday afternoon at the Cintas Center in Cincinnati. Jaivon Harris was the only Bobcat scorer in double figures with 17 points.

Ohio (1-1) faces UC-Irvine (1-1) Monday at 2 PM. The Anteaters were a 65-60 winner over San Diego in their second round game after losing 77-65 to Illinois-Chicago to start the tourney.

James Odoms' 3-pointer with .07 seconds left gave Mercer a 67-64 victory over Ohio in the first round of the Dell BCA Classic at Cintas Center in Cincinnati. Jaivon Harris led Ohio (0-1) in scoring with 17 points. Jeff Halbert and Delvar Barrett had 12 and 10 points respectively. Odoms and Scott Emerson each had 14 points for Mercer (1-0). Emerson also pulled down 14 rebounds for the Bears.

The Boston Celtics announced today the signing of their second-round draft pick Brandon Hunter. Although the team did not disclose terms of the contract, it is reportedly a two-year deal paying $500,000 annually.

Brandon Hunter went to the Reebok NBA Summer League with something to prove. And prove he did. The former Ohio standout and Boston Celtic second-round draft pick was named to that league's First Team after averaging 16.3 points and 8.2 boards in six games last week.
