Falcons outsize Bobcats, win 78-63

Bowling Green snapped Ohio's 4-game win streak with a 78-63 win over the Bobcats Monday night at Anderson Arena. The taller Falcons (13-6, 7-4 MAC) blocked nine shots, outrebounded Ohio 39-20 and held power forward Leon Williams scoreless. Josh Almanson, John Reimold and John Floyd had 16 points each to lead BG. Mychal Green topped Ohio (12-8, 7-5) scoring with 18 points. Jeremy Fears and Sonny Troutman finished with 15 and 12 points respectively.

Ohio reeled of its 10th straight home win Saturday afternoon at the Convocation Center with an 89-85 triumph over MAC West Leader Western Michigan. After scoring the first basket of the game, the Bobcats (12-7, 7-4 MAC) trailed for the next 39 minutes before Mychal Green's 3-pointer put Ohio up 87-85 with 24 seconds to play. Green led the 'Cats with 25 points and Sonny Troutman had 20. For the Broncos (15-7, 8-4), Ben Reed netted 27 and Levi Rost finished with 20.

Sonny Troutman had 21 points and seven assists to help Ohio to a 92-90 win at Buffalo Wednesday night. The win gives the Bobcats (11-7, 6-4 MAC) three straight wins and breaks the Bulls (13-6, 6-5) 3-game win streak. For the fifth time this season, five Bobcats scored in double figures. Leon Williams and Jeff Halbert had 17 points each, Terren Harbut 14 and Jeremy Fears 10. Turner Battle had 29 points to lead Buffalo.

A late 9-0 run lifted Ohio to a 72-69 win over Bowling Green Saturday afternoon at the Convocation Center. The run started with the Bobcats (10-7, 5-4 MAC) trailing 66-61 with 4:44 left in the game. It was capped by two Mychal Green free throws with 21 seconds left that put Ohio up 70-66. Cory Eyink's 3-pointer with :11 left cut the Falcons deficit to one. Ohio built a 20-point second-half lead and held off a late Toledo charge for a 76-68 win Wednesday night at the Convocation Center. Five Bobcats finished in double figure scoring led by Mychal Green's 17 points. Sammy Villegas had 18 points for the Rockets (7-9, 3-4 MAC). Ohio rallied back from a 17-point second-half deficit but Chet Mason's basket with 27 seconds left lifted Miami over Ohio 59-57 Saturday night in Oxford. Ohio used a 17-0 run coming out of halftime to take an 80-54 win over Kent St. Saturday afternoon at the Convocation Center. Mychal Green led the Bobcats (7-6 Overall, 2-3 MAC) with 23 points. For the Golden Flashes (10-6, 3-3), Scott Cutley was the only double figure scorer with 11. The win keeps the 'Cats a perfect 6-0 at home.

Northern Illinois' hot 3-point shooting was the difference as it downed Ohio 74-71 Wednesday night in DeKalb. The Huskies (6-7 Overall, 2-3 MAC) converted on 10 of 16 shots behind the arc.
