The Ohio basketball team reached its scholarship limit of 13 with the commitment of Ohlone Community College (Fremont, CA) point guard Bert Whittington today. The 5-11 Whittington played high school ball at Chaparral High School in Temecula, California. He joins Ohlone teammate Allen Hester as juniors on the 2007-08 Bobcats squad.

Shooting guard Allen Hester from Ohlone Community College (Fremont, CA) has signed to play with Ohio for the 2007-08 season. The 6-1, 185-pounder visited Ohio on April 13th. He had previously visited Northern Arizona on April 6th and had an offer there as well. Hester played prep basketball at Oakland's St. Joseph Notre Dame High School. Last season at Ohlone, he averaged 11 points, 4 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2 assists while shooting 42% from the 3-point line. His signing leaves the Bobcats one...

Ohio lands JUCO PG Michael Allen

Ohio has received a commitment from Cloud County Community College (Concordia, KS) point guard Michael Allen to play for the Bobcats next season. The 6-foot, 180-pounder will have two years of eligibility remaining. Allen played high school ball at Detroit's Cody High School. The addition of Allen means Ohio now has 11 of its allowed 13 scholarships filled for the 2007-08 campaign.

Miami built a 39-21 halftime lead and was never headed in knocking Ohio out of the MAC Tournament with a 70-51 win Thursday afternoon at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland. Leon Williams was the only Bobcat in double figures with 22 points. Ohio shot just 12.5% on 16 3-point attempts and was outrebounded 33-18. Tim Pollitz scored 25 to lead the RedHawks.

Ohio beat Bowling Green 69-59 in the first round of the MAC Tournament Wednesday afternoon at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland. With the game tied at 43 with 14:14 remaining, the Bobcats went on a 14-2 run to put away the Falcons. It was their third win over BG this season. Bubba Walther led all scorers with 19 points while Leon Williams and Jerome Tillman each recorded double-doubles. Ohio now faces Miami Thursday at 2 PM in a MAC Quarterfinals contest.

Ohio lost out on a chance for a first-round MAC Tourney bye with an 84-65 loss at Buffalo Sunday. The Bobcats now go into the MAC Tournament as a 5-seed and will play Bowling Green Wednesday at 3 PM at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.

Whitney Davis had 15 points to lead Ohio to a 52-45 win over Miami of Ohio on Thursday night.

Jerome Tillman added 10 points and eight rebounds for the Bobcats (18-11, 9-6 Mid-American Conference), who trailed by 10 points early in the second half before going on a 15-3 run to take a 41-39 lead with 9:25 left.
