Brian Knorr will begin his first season as Ohio head coach by facing a schedule that includes four teams, including all three non-conference opponents, who appeared in Bowl games last year. The Bobcats finished with a 7-4 record last year and went 5-3 in MAC play. Due to considerations made for regional television exposure, Ohio will now open the season on Thursday, August 30th at Akron. The original schedule had the Cats opening against NC State on September 1st. Following the opener against Akron, the Bobcats head to Morgantown to take on West Virginia. The Mountaineers posted a 7-5 mark including a Music City Bowl victory in Don Nehlen's last season as head coach. Ohio then has five days to prepare for North Carolina State. The Wolfpack finished 8-4 last year after winning the MicronPC.com Bowl. The home schedule starts when Iowa State comes to Peden Stadium. The game marks the first time a Big 12 team has visited Athens. The Cyclones downed OU 25-15 in Ames last year and would go on to win the Insight.com Bowl finishing 9-3 and 23rd in the final AP Poll. The conference schedule begins in earnest with a visit from Toledo. The Rockets, who finished 10-1 last season, and Central Michigan are the two West Division foes Ohio will be facing. The Cats face all of the East Division members. They host Miami, Kent State and Bowling Green and will travel to Akron, Buffalo and Marshall.
