Five Ohio football players signed deals with NFL teams Sunday as undrafted rookie free agents. The Cincinnati Bengals signed middle linebacker Matt Muncy and cornerback T.J. Wright. Other signees include tight end Rudy Sylvan with Detroit, wide receiver Scott Mayle with Buffalo and running back Voncarie Owens with St. Louis.

Six home games, a visit from Wyoming and a trip to Virginia Tech highlight the 2007 Ohio Football schedule. The Bobcats play four non-conference tilts in September opening with Gardner-Webb (Sept. 1) before trips to Louisiana-Lafayette (Sept. 8) and Virginia Tech (Sept. 15). Ohio falls 28-7 to Southern Miss in GMAC Bowl

A 21-point second quarter lifted Southern Miss to a 28-7 win over Ohio in the GMAC Bowl Sunday night in Mobile, Alabama. The MAC East Champion Bobcats fall just short of tying the school-record 10 wins and winning the first Bowl game in school history. Ohio, playing in its first Bowl game in 38 years, got its only score on a 13-yard TD pass from Austen Everson to tight end Thomas Christy.

Ohio Athletics announced Tuesday afternoon that the football team has accepted an invitation to play in the GMAC Bowl in Mobile, Alabama. The game will be played on Sunday, January 7th in Ladd-Peebles Stadium vs. Southern Miss from Conference USA. The 8 PM game will be televised by ESPN.
