With the loss, in which Ohio (8-4, 6-2 MAC) managed only 183 yards and Boo Jackson turned over the ball four times, Miami wins the outright East Division championship and a place opposite Northern Illinois in the title game next Friday in Detroit.

ATHENS, Ohio – Boo Jackson caught his first career touchdown pass, ran for a touchdown and threw a pair of scoring passes to Terrence McCrae as Ohio wrapped up its home schedule on Senior Night with its sixth straight victory, 34-17, against Buffalo.

“I think (Jackson) displayed his talent in a lot of ways tonight,” Ohio coach Frank Solich said. “The catch he really had to battle for. There are full-time receivers that don't make that catch all the time. I thought he had some great individual...

ATHENS, Ohio – There is no question that Buffalo, especially its offense, has struggled this season, but Ohio coach Frank Solich said the Bulls are not as bad as they appear by the numbers.

Buffalo (2-6, 1-3 Mid-American Conference) has played six of its first eight games against teams with winning records.

“They’re much better than what their record might indicate,” Solich said. “They have very, very good skill players and I’m very impressed with their ability to return kicks.”

ATHENS, Ohio – It could be easy for the Ohio football team to overlook Louisiana-Lafayette this week.

The Ragin’ Cajuns (2-5) are coming off a blowout loss to Western Kentucky, while the Bobcats (5-3) are winners of four straight and have three key Mid-American Conference games on the schedule following the non-conference matchup.

But Ohio coach Frank Solich said this game means just as much as any other.

“We really don’t approach it differently in that every win is an important win for...
