MOSCOW, Idaho – Ohio opened its season with a 45-28 victory against Idaho on Thursday night at the Kibbie Dome.

The Bobcats (1-0) scored the first 21 points, and the Vandals (0-1) only got as close as 10 points late in the fourth quarter.

Derrius Vick threw touchdown passes of 6 yards to Brendan Cope and 15 yards to Jordan Reid, and Jovon Johnson returned an interception 29 yards for a score as Ohio took control early.

2016 Cincinnati Colerain High School offensive lineman Desmond Noel announced his commitment to Ohio Football via his Twitter account. The 6-4, 290-pounder was offered by the Bobcats after his showing in their Cincinnati satellite camp in early June.

Per their Twitter accounts, 2016 cornerbacks Ilyaas and Xavior Motley from Centerville High School have committed to Ohio. Xavior is listed at 6-foot, 165 pounds and held offers from Ball St., BG, EMU, Illinois and Toledo. Xavior's twin brother Ilyaas checks in at 5-11, 150 pounds and also had offers from EMU and Toledo.

Keystone High School (LaGrange, OH) TE Austin Conrad announced his decision to play football at Ohio on his Twitter account. The 6-3, 235-pounder also had offers from Ball St. and Akron.

Ohio Football has received a verbal commitment from Aquinas (Augusta, GA) High School defensive end William Evans according to Evans' Twitter account. The 6-3, 255-pounder held offers from Air Force, Army and Wyoming among others.

Ohio Football made a late addition to its 2015 recruiting class when it got a commitment from Mainland HS (Daytona Beach, FL) LB/DE Marcus Brunson. The 6-foot, 200-pounder was named the 2014 Daytona Beach News Journal's Defensive Player of the Year. He had an impressive senior season recording 30 sacks and 47 tackles for loss.
