Unlike in the MAC Championship Game last March, Ohio was unable to come back from a large deficit against Buffalo as the Bobcats fell 70-51 to the Bulls Thursday night. As Buffalo (15-4, 5-3 MAC) surged out to a 28-12 lead, Ohio (12-4, 6-2) went through a stretch where it turned the ball over five times in six possessions. Ohio got 32 points of bench scoring as it won a 71-68 contest at Toledo Saturday evening. Whitney Davis and Tony Chatman each had career-highs off the bench with 18 and 8 points respectively. Ohio couldn't overcome 31.9% shooting as it dropped a 64-59 decision at Northern Illinois Tuesday night. Leon Williams (0-for-8) and Sonny Troutman (0-for-3) were unable to convert on any of their shot attempts as the Bobcats (10-3, 4-1 MAC) lost for the first time in MAC play. Ohio turned in one of the best defensive halves in college basketball history as it beat Central Michigan 76-44 Saturday afternoon at the Convocation Center. The Bobcats allowed just seven points in the first half as they opened a 35-7 halftime lead. A 31-11 run over the last 13 minutes of the game helped Ohio to a 71-60 win over Ball St. Sunday afternoon at the Convocation Center. Leon Williams led Bobcat scorers with 13 points while the Cardinals' Skip Mills poured in a game-high 25 points. Ohio's ability to get to the free throw line proved to be the difference in the game. The Bobcats were 26-for-35 from the charity stripe while the Cards shot just 7 of 14.
