Ohio overcame a slow start to beat Buffalo 67-51 Thursday night at the Convocation Center. Whitney Davis and Jerome Tillman scored 15 points each as all five Bobcat starters finished in double figures. Yassin Idbihi had 11 points to lead the Bulls (9-8, 1-3 MAC) who have never won in the Convocation Center.

Omni Smith's runner with 4.5 seconds left gave Kent State a 67-65 win over Ohio at the M.A.C.C. Sunday afternoon. Jerome Tillman had 20 points and 17 rebounds for the Bobcats (11-5, 2-1 MAC) who haven't won at Kent St. since 2001. The Golden Flashes (9-7, 2-1) got 13 points apiece from Smith, Armon Gates and Haminn Quaintance.

Ohio held Bowling Green to 33% shooting on the way to a 67-49 win Thursday night at the Convocation Center. Leon Williams led Ohio with 20 points. Jerome Tillman tallied a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Ohio (11-4, 2-0 MAC) held the MAC's leading scorer, Martin Samarco, to 12 points on 4-for-20 shooting. Marshall erased an Ohio 14-point second-half lead to win 70-60 Wednesday night in Huntington. Trey Whitted scored all of his game-high 19 points in the second-half to lead the Herd (5-8). Ohio (9-4) got 18 points from Bibba Walther and 16 from Jerome Tillman. The Bobcats open MAC play Saturday night at the Convo against Akron.

Leon Williams scored 20 points to lead Ohio past Cincinnati 79-66 at Quicken Loans Arena Saturday night. Williams hit 12 of 15 free throw attempts as the Bobcats (9-3) outscored the Bearcats (9-4) 30 to 12 from the free throw line. Bubba Walther added 18 points, Whitney Davis 15 and Jerome Tillman 13. Jamual Warren and John Williamson had 15 apiece to lead Cincinnati.

It hasn't taken long for newcomer Bubba Walther to make an impact on the Ohio basketball team. The 6-4, 170-pound transfer from Akron has scored in double figures in six of the eight games he's played. Walther is averaging 14.1 points a game and provides the same deep threat as Mychal Green a year ago. Bubba has hit 25 of his 55 3-point attempts (46%) on the season. Sonny Troutman has begun his senior campaign in impressive fashion. The 6-6 forward from Indianapolis is leading the Bobcats in scoring (16.1 PPG), assists (4.4 APG) and steals (2.6 SPG).
