ATHENS – Ohio used a 14-0 run late in the second half to pull away and cruise to a 72-47 victory against Alabama A&M on Saturday at The Convo.

Leading 16-14 with nine minutes remaining, the Bobcats held the Bulldogs scoreless for almost five minutes, taking a 30-14 lead on a steal and layup by T.J. Hall.

Hall, Maurice Ndour and Javarez Willis scored 12 points each for the Bobcats (7-2). Jeremy Crutcher and Demarquelle Tabb finished with 11 apiece for the Bulldogs (3-5).

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Ohio shot 36.8 percent and committed 18 turnovers in a 73-56 loss to Oakland on Saturday at the Athletic Center O’Rena.

With the game tied at 37 with 13 minutes remaining, Oakland went on a 12-0 run and Ohio did not get closer than nine the rest of the way.

Nick Kellogg scored 18 points and Stevie Taylor had 14 points for the Bobcats (6-2). Duke Monday and Kahlil Felder scored 13 apiece as six Grizzlies scored between 11 and 13 to account for all of their points.

ATHENS – Ohio closed the first half on a 30-12 run and carried that momentum into the second half to take a 76-67 victory against Mercer on Tuesday night at The Convo.

ATHENS – Ohio overcame a sluggish start to blow out Division III Heidelberg, 85-57, at The Convo on Saturday.

The Bobcats trailed 24-22 more than midway through the first half but outscored the Student Princes 63-33 the rest of the game.

BALTIMORE – Stevie Taylor scored a layup through contact and knocked down the free throw with 2.2 seconds left to give Ohio a 65-62 victory at Morgan State on Wednesday night.

The Bobcats (3-1) trailed most of the game but led 62-60 on a Maurice Ndour jumper at the 1:59 mark. With 38 seconds left, Justin Black missed twice at the foul line, but Anthony Hubbard put back the second miss to knot the game at 62 and give Ohio the last possession.

COLUMBUS – Columbus natives Stevie Taylor and Nick Kellogg combined for 42 points but 10th-ranked Ohio State overcame Ohio, 79-69, by cashing in a school-record 38 times at the foul line Tuesday night at Value City Arena.
