ATHENS – Kent State went on an early 17-0 run and coasted to a 75-61 victory that gave Ohio back-to-back losses for the first time all season Saturday at The Convo.

Devareaux Manley and Derek Jackson scored 17 and 16 points, respectively, and Kris Brewer had 12 points for the Golden Flashes (16-13, 7-9 Mid-American Conference).

Travis Wilkins was the only Ohio player in double figures with 14 points.

ATHENS – Ohio’s second half deficit proved to be a little too much this time.

AKRON – Ohio led by double digits the entire second half and rolled past short-handed Akron, 66-50, on Saturday evening at James A. Rhodes Arena.

The Bobcats led 36-20 at halftime and never were challenged by the Zips, who had won four straight in the rivalry series.

Western Michigan led nearly from start to finish to top Ohio for the second time this season, 73-63, on Wednesday night at The Convo.
