ATHENS – Ohio accepted a bid to play in the CollegeInside.com Tournament and will host Cleveland State in the first round at 7 p.m. Wednesday at The Convo.

The CIT features 32 mid-major teams not selected to either the NCAA Tournament or the National Invitation Tournament. After losing to Akron in the Mid-American Conference tournament quarterfinals, the Bobcats (23-11) reportedly were considered for the NIT but ultimately left out.

CLEVELAND – Akron went on a late 19-3 run to turn an eight-point deficit into an 83-77 victory against Ohio in the Mid-American Conference Tournament quarterfinals Thursday night at Quicken Loans Arena.

ATHENS – Kent State went on an early 17-0 run and coasted to a 75-61 victory that gave Ohio back-to-back losses for the first time all season Saturday at The Convo.

AKRON – Ohio led by double digits the entire second half and rolled past short-handed Akron, 66-50, on Saturday evening at James A. Rhodes Arena.

Western Michigan led nearly from start to finish to top Ohio for the second time this season, 73-63, on Wednesday night at The Convo.
