OXFORD - Ohio led by as much as 14 in the first half, but Miami took over after that and knocked off Ohio, 77-66, on Saturday at Millett Hall.

The RedHawks shot 58.3 percent in the second half and cruised down the stretch on an afternoon where Miami retired the jersey of the late Charlie Coles.

Geovonie McKnight and Eric Washington had 17 points each, and Will Sullivan scored 15 points for Miami (9-16, 4-8 Mid-American Conference).

ATHENS - Ohio could not overcome a slow start and fell 68-57 against Central Michigan on Tuesday night at The Convo.

The Bobcats (9-13, 4-7 Mid-American Conference) shot just 25 percent in the first half, fell behind 15-0 and trailed 39-20 at halftime. Ohio warmed up in the second half but never got its deficit into single-digits.

Stevie Taylor paced Ohio with 15 points, and Maurice Ndour and Javarez Willis each had nine points.

ATHENS - For the second game in a row, an opponent rallied in the second half but missed a potential game-changing shot at the buzzer as Ohio held off Eastern Michigan, 76-73, on Saturday at The Convo.

Raven Lee missed a 3-pointer that could have tied the game after the Eagles trailed by 15 with 8:19 remaining. It was one of the few times Lee missed. He scored 33 points in just 21 minutes, and all but two of his points came in the second half.

YPSILANTI, Mich. - Ohio shot just 22.8 percent, including 16.1 percent in the first half, and was blown out 76-40 by Eastern Michigan on Tuesday night at the Eagles' Convocation Center.

ATHENS - Maurice Ndour scored a career-high 31 points, including the game-winning dunk with .6 second left, and Ohio defeated Buffalo 63-61 on Saturday at The Convo.

MUNCIE, Ind. - Ohio was on fire and cruised its first Mid-American Conference victory, 82-73 against Ball State on Wednesday night at Worthen Arena.

Previously struggling senior point guards Javarez Willis and Stevie Taylor led the way.
