CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Ayo Dosunmu’s free throws with 2.3 seconds remaining put Illinois on top and allowed the eighth-ranked team in the country to hold off Ohio 77-75 on Friday at the State Farm Center.

Jason Preston’s floater with seven seconds to go gave Ohio a 75-74 lead, but Dosunmu came back the other way after a timeout, got to the basket and was fouled by Dwight Wilson. He connected twice.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Ohio had another strong second half effort to pull away with an 84-72 victory against North Carolina A&T on Thursday at the State Farm Center at the University of Illinois.

The teams were knotted at 35 at halftime and at 38 early in the second half before the Bobcats outscored the Aggies 34-12 over the next 11 minutes to take a 22-point lead with 7:06 remaining.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Ohio began the second half with a huge run to run away with an 84-61 victory against Chicago State to open the men’s basketball season Wednesday at the State Farm Center at the University of Illinois.

ATHENS – After sitting out the last game, Ben Vander Plas nearly putting up a triple-double Monday as Ohio built a huge lead and then held off a late Central Michigan push to win 85-65 in the first round of the Mid-American Conference tournament at The Convo.

AKRON – Ohio ran out of gas late, and Akron rallied for a 74-67 victory Tuesday night to clinch the Mid-American Conference regular season title at James R. Rhodes Arena.
