1:30 left, we give up TWO offensive rebounds and they get points to extend lead. Tough sequence.
WE ARE 3 GAMES INTO PLAYING WITHOUT THE REIGNING MAC PLAYER OF THE YEAR!!!!!!

DOUG TAYLOR IS STILL ONLY A SOPHOMORE!!!!!

This team is overachieving right now. I expect .500 ball this year and a run to MAC championship as a shocker.

Wasn't a shot at anyone, just an observation of a key sequence in the game. Guess you would have preferred "alternative facts" Mr. Trump.

Ohio beat Toledo tonight in front of the largest crowd in Convo history, 18,000.

Disappointing to lose winnable home games, but a bit of perspective is warranted. It's frustrating to see the team abused in the paint game after game, but we've faced arguably all of the best MAC big men since TC went down. Let's see how they respond this week when they don't have to contend with James Thompson, Isaiah Johnson, Marin Maric and Steve Taylor. That's a pretty hellish run of big men to face when you've lost your best one.

DT and Carter are both inexperienced and still learning and improving. I'm not saying we'll be cutting down the nets, but there are valid reasons to think this team will get better week over week.

Everyone is frustrated by what's going on, some of which (injuries) is out of anyone's control. However, sarcastically taking on posters who haven't attacked anyone just stating their own opinions and bringing the President into it, doesn't seem to serve much of a purpose. If the President (whoever they may be at the time) spouts off at our team, the President is fair game. Otherwise, not sure this helps anything.

I'd rather read posters poking fun at a political leaders ignoring facts than people hating on the kids wearing green and white and playing hard.

Take care of the ball and that 16-2 doesn't happen.

Refs didn't help by not calling Taylor with at least two very noticeable forearms to the defender. Smacking your ass and backing into the defender is bad enough but squaring up to the guy and going at him and clearing out with the non-ball arm shouldn't be allowed except on the football field.

More Laster playing time please!

Let's put the politics stuff away here. One man's "facts" is another man's "fiction". The truth often lies somewhere in between - and liberals certainly don't have the market cornered on it.

The best bigs in the MAC for several years now do that all the time - they take the initiative, get a qtr/half step on their defender and go strong to the hoop.

DT needs to learn how to do that - the sooner the better......

Has anyone ever been so egregious in the face of documented evidence? Here's a picture of a bunch of space with no people. Trump: there were people there! The best people! I always have the most people! Look at this picture with people!

"Sir, that picture is from 2009."

Give me a break. Sometimes we just need to call a turd a turd when it's a turd. Yes, plenty of politicians lie but also have some redeeming qualities such as doing things that help people. In five days, he's hurt the working class, cost women in developing nations a chance at good healthcare, and taken a huge step toward permanently polluting the environment and ruining Native American land. He's a useless human with zero redeeming qualities. He's just a grade A sack of sh**.

And to stay on topic, sucks about that game last night. I think we still have potential, and I think we have moxie and are working hard, but I still think we're about .500 in conf this year. Just hope we're on the upswing in March.

Defending against that takes experience and good footwork. Neither Carter or Taylor have that yet. Good acting skills don't hurt.

Deciduous Forest Cat. I was merely trying to concentrate on posters focusing on Bobcat basketball. Unfortunately some liberal poster's frustration at the election couldn't help itself and here we are. Hearing the liberal talking heads on this morning's MSNBC's Morning Joe express disbelief when reading a Politico poll (hardly a friend to conservatives) showing the that a majority of Americans liked President Trump's Inauguration speech. In addition, the poll also showed the public liked President Trump's first few days in office, when it has been panned by the liberal elites. This coupled with the liberal hand wringing by some on this board has been too rich. By the way, President Trump won more working class voters, white and black since 1972. My suggestion for your emotional well being is to deal with the reality that is here, leave politics out of this board and concentrate on Bobcat basketball.

There were a couple times last night where I was thinking Jason should have taken one in the chest and let Taylor plow into him for the charge. Better get Gavin and Coach Tommy in there to teach him how.

I'm interested to see if there was a difference in how many points Taylor had against DT versus Jason. It seemed like Jason was more than holding his own in the first half, but maybe just got worn down after guarding yet another big man in the MAC.

"Hey kid, our best player is gonna be out the rest of the season and we've got Thompson, Johnson, Maric and Taylor in the next four games. You good?"

I wasn't upset at at all about this loss.

Taylor was simply bigger, stronger, better than the bigs we have right now. Jason Carter can't magically grow the couple of inches and put on the muscle he's likely going to put on in the next couple years right now. His footwork and technique seem flawless to my (dumb) eyes. So I just accept it and think about how good he's going to be in two years and let that along with the rebounding clinic he puts on and his velcro hands warm my basketball heart.

Doug Taylor has the size and ability to be a good defender. He'll get there.

I'm preparing myself to watch a lot of teams try to do this to Ohio, too. There's going to be some frustrating nights where we just get bulldozed in the paint against the best big men in the conference.

This team is not overachieving. DT needs to be developed by a big man coach. .500 ball, you are really shooting for the stars. I was thinking .150 and we can create JC and GB morals. We could marvel in Saul's brilliance.

Recovering Journalist, my post addressed those who brought politics into the discussion. I find it puzzling that you never addressed those who started it in the first place. I hope in your spare time you are not a basketball official, only seeing part of the court missing those who initially fouled.

Cold-cocking the player who got away with shoving you in the paint isn't going to help your team on the basketball court.

You weren't wrong in your original diagnosis of the situation, but you didn't elevate the conversation in any way after the diagnosis. You threw more logs on the fire.

Not judging. I've done it countless times, both unwittingly and sometimes pettily. Just stating what I think RJ had in mind.

Sorry,I disagree.
The initial extraneous political comments in the sports posts seem to be,almost exclusively, of a derogatory nature towards our president and/or people who support him.
To me,not responding to those comments would be looked at as tacit acceptance.

Just wildly inconsistent....but that's what happens when you live and die by 3ptr. Business is boomin' when shots fall...when they don't, time to file for bankruptcy
But they didn't die by the three. They were 7-for-20. 35%. Pretty close to their season average. The problem was defense. Ohio had its worst defensive effort of the season. They allowed 1.22 points/possession (marshal was 1.20).
