Sorry Brian, I just don't see that way. My post hardly seemed the equivalent of cold cocking someone. I would suggest it was merely a player who was fouled getting in this face of those starting the action and saying don't do it again.

Rpbobcat seems to be in line with my thinking.

Believe me I would much rather talk about the basketball matter at hand, and I certainly will let some things go, but I won't turn a blind eye to what was taking place.

Here's the right way to steer a Siberia-bound thread back to relevant topics:

"Can we not discuss politics? This is a sports forum and there are thousands of outlets for discussing politics."

Here's the wrong way:

"Blah blah blah liberals. Blah blah blah liberals. Blah blah blah liberals."

feller, I am with you too. I am conservative, I am careful who I like. Nobody should be trashing our Potus, he is a straight talking genius with great etiquette. I killed a deer once and he let me bring it in Trump Tower. You won't believe this, but every weekend we used to go hunting in Central Park and Don Jr has been carrying a pistol since he was 6.

Is this a Siberian first? A game thread reaching its cold, barren lands?

The bottom line is that there are a lot of really, really, stupid people in this country.

We lost the best player in the conference.
As a fan it sucks dropping two games at our house against opposition that we should have beaten.

Luckily, the next two road games are against the two worst teams in the conference.
This team has heart and a will to win.

We forget that this team is still young.

Win the next two and come home to battle Akron. Beat Akron, EMU and Toledo losses will be attributed to Tony's injury.

GO BOBCATS!!!

It must be a first, because this is the first time I can recall a game thread getting dumped into general discussion.

Personally, I'd like to request from both posters and admins, that we 100% leave out politics from the sports discussion threads altogether. Our world is "infected" enough by all the political unrest. I come here, to this board, to talk about Bobcat sports with Bobcat friends to escape from that reality for ten to twenty minutes a day (or more). Respectfully, can we please keep it that way?

I'd like to add one caveat to the politics ban surrounding Ohio Athletics.

I want Alex Jones to deliver the pre-game speeches to our football team.

"The Toledo Rockets ARE THE LIZARD PEOPLE!"

After that, I'm cool.

I apologize for posting very early in this thread about how last night's game had by far the largest crowd in Convo history. And that Ohio actually beat Toledo.

In my defense, however, I thought if it was OK for alternative facts to come from the White House then it must be OK for the rest of us to do the same.

Glad you said the "White House" .

Seems former administrations have had similar issues with "alternative facts".
I won't waste anyone's time repeating what was posted about this on football's "I now see the light" thread.

Maybe there's something in the water in there.

The Dallas Stars attendance announcement was hilarious! Really do not care who you are, that was funny. As for the ignoring of certain facts and numbers, do not even try to justify the "Alt Facts" stuff. Just admit, he's out to lunch on that

Just wildly inconsistent....but that's what happens when you live and die by 3ptr. Business is boomin' when shots fall...when they don't, time to file for bankruptcy
But they didn't die by the three. They were 7-for-20. 35%. Pretty close to their season average. The problem was defense. Ohio had its worst defensive effort of the season. They allowed 1.22 points/possession (marshal was 1.20).
Down the stretch...last 3 mins.

1-6 FG.....1-5 3ptrs.

Maybe "die by the 3" is a little harsh....but in a game where they were down by 3 instead of looking for a two...they continued to fire away.

So I wouldn't say I'm too far off when I say they died by the three....or at least went down firing.

Well - there was that Simmons drive teardrop that - left a tear in my eye.....damn how did that not go in! However - it would have left 20 seconds on the clock and UT w/the ball...

Seeing as how this has already been banished to Siberia, I won't feel bad responding to this BS.

Number one, there are very few "facts" in this world anyway. We live in a subjective society where opinion reigns supreme. People will disagree on literally about anything (especially when politics is involved). Think of a topic...literally any topic...and you will find competing articles, research studies, etc. available to review.

Number two, you are swallowing the media spin hook, line and sinker. He never asserted that the in-person crowd was the biggest ever. Just that the audience (TV, in-person, streaming, etc) was the largest. Seeing as how there is more proliferation of electronic devices today than ever - it's plausible. Can it be proven? Of course not. But honestly, who cares except a bunch of whiny far-left types that want to "fact check" themselves into obscurity.

Mark my words...if the media and left-wing politicians continue down the current path of whining about everything, 2018 will be a landslide of epic proportion for the Republicans. Not to mention by then the economy will be humming at a level never before seen. It is a great time to be alive, and everyone will benefit. Sit down, be quiet and enjoy the ride!

Yes, you can have a loaf of bread. Just keep your head down, don't ask any questions and make sure your plants have plenty of gatorade. Enjoy your cheap gas and your nation of socially retarded mouth breathers. Everything will be fine.
