Great win for Athens yesterday over Steubenville. Williams had another big game. Athens is undefeated and this should help get the critics off their back for the schedule they play... Hopefully they can end this season with a W...

Already seen the "well this isn't a typical Stubenville team" comments.

This guy is more relevant than burrows. How about an update here after each game. At least he is going to Ohio next year. He is a recruit the other kid is just a local high schooler. Maybe we should have a category for "local high schoolers of interest" for burrows and the like.

Williams is over 2,000 yards and averaging almost 12ypc.

Side note Athens is close to being the highest scoring team in State History after only 13 games. The record is held on a 15 game schedule. This record will definitely fall if Athens goes to the finals, and may fall this coming Friday.

Tougher to find his numbers. The campaign seems to make Burrow into Mr. Ohio. I found this in the AM article mostly about Burrow.

http://www.athensohiotoday.com/sports/local/regional-cham...

"Not to be forgotten is Trae Williams. He caught Burrow’s final touchdown pass — a 49-yarder — to give Athens the 32-point victory. Williams had 102 yards rushing and a touchdown while also catching two passes for 84 yards."

INDIVIDUAL STATISTICS

RUSHING

DeSales — Josh DeLozier 25-117 2 TDs, Jake Gilmore 15-74, Austin Andrews 4-40, Adam Acquista 5-18, Ryan Peaks 5-7, Team 1-(-1); Athens — Joe Burrow 5-135 2 TDs, Trae Williams 15-102 TD

Why do you think Burrow is getting more pub than Trae?

Hint: you'll need your M.O. to figure it out.

He went close to 200 v Tri-Valley which had surrendered 41 points through 11 games.

Hmm... I thought the consensus was that we needed to get heavier.

Athens will play former OHIO University defensive coordinator Nick Toth and Toledo Central Catholic next Thursday for the State Title. Trae had 124 yards on 23 carries and 1 TD in the win.

I think he also had an interception and a fumble recovery.

First interception of the year and the one that essentially ended the game.

I saw the catch, it was a reaction to a tipped pass, showing his reaction time and eye hand coordination. Nice skills to go along with his foot work.

So AJ, Papi, Dorian Brown, Daz and Trae. Quite a stable of backs.

Northwestern trying to flip Trae Williams per Arkley. He also tweeted he was on a plane earlier today.

Thought Trae was much better on offense than D. Hands still need some work. A NW offer would be tough to turn down, great school/ education, chance to play in the Big 10. If he flips OU should give his scholarship to his Athens teammate, Ryan Luehrman, still can't believe they haven't offered, bigger and better than anything they have now.

Agree, a Northwestern offer will (rightfully) get him to flip. But we don't have a hometown quota to fulfill. Sounds like Ryan has a preferred walk-on offer. If Trae flips, let's look beyond the zip code.
