ScoutingOhio.com is reporting that Ohio has offered 2015 RB Trae Williams from Athens High School. It's the first offer for the 6-foot, 190-pounder.

Son of Ohio DL Coach Jesse Williams. Highlights show lots of innate talent, raw speed and toughness. Keeping my fingers crossed he decides on Ohio.

Definite DI Football player, my bet though is on the other side of the ball. Has a high pad level and not the best of running through contact. Appears to still be growing and would be a very fast OLB.

Watched this kid play in the playoff game against Tri Valley and was very impressed. He was easily the fastest player on the field. He covered their best wide receiver for the majority of the game and was a way different player compared to his sophomore highlights!

Can we be the first team in college football to field an entire starting offense with players related to coaches?

I think its great for the long term health of the program. Not so many years ago Ohio failed at recruiting top Ohio talent, and to get the talent they needed they recruited Florida, Nebraska, Oklahoma, California, etc. That's all fine as far as winning, but it does nothing for fan support.

Increasingly Ohio is made up of players from the city, state and region, meaning parents and friends can become fans, ticket purchasers, and attenders. The overall program continues to move in a positive direction.

Not enough to kick him off my Wish List......but then again I should have him on their no matter who offers.  Talent and the fact that your dad is an Ohio coach might get you on there....haha.

But seriously....Burrows and Williams will be on there....if they pick another school who normally competes for the BCS championship then I'll understand.  Just kidding....whatever is best for them.

The dad thing is sensitive...my sons would probably never go with me since I was such a prick as a coach....you know the you can do better than that thing.

Thankfully I never coached my son. For the most part he had much better as coaches.

I think winning vs good competition is much more important than where players come from.  For example, I don't think any more Cinti alumns come to a game because kids on the field are from their high school.  However, Ohio alumni in cincy might come to Athens more if we beat UC in the 1-1 series coming up soon and go 11-1 a lot and they see us as a really good team.  So, let's go get the best players possible and win 11-12 games every year!

Huge start for Trae, in two games he's carried 23 times for 380 yards. Torched zanesville last night for close to 250 on about 13 carries.

Wow-nice!!  Is it just me, or does it seem that Ohio should be LOADED at running back for the next 4-6 years?
