Doc and L.C., can I take credit for getting the staff to get more FLA guys? I hope they all work out and this really is the best class ever. I also think we are close to the 10-3-star guys I clamor for EVERY year!

Fair enough. If it works, if it leads to a MACC this year, then credit should be given.


But not having led to a MACC for 12 years, isn't it fair to assign blame and to question.

Guys, I hope you didn't take me seriously. I do think the staff the last couple years has started to change it's philosophy on getting the higher rated recruits though. It seems like they are offering more higher rated guys and getting a few more.

The difference I notice in this year's class is the amount of Papi White level immediate impact player candidates. Usually we have a few recruited and by signing day have it figured out who but this year they all seem to be in that mold.

As of about noon, Ohio has not announced signings for offensive linemen Tre Newton and Jylton Tusha and defensive lineman Vonnie Watkins. All others who committed have been announced as far as I can tell. I see Twitter photos indicating Watkins did sign, and Tusha definitely seems on board. Haven't seen much about Newton.

Still no announcement from Kris Leach, Terrell Carey, or Antonio Howard, so the list may grow.

The Ohio Football website is a mess. Some players are listed in the bios, and not elsewhere. Others in the list of signees. Still others are listed in the announcements. All of them together add to 19. Still expected, but not announced, is Tusha. Two JUCOs are also missing, Newton and Haas. Haas was reportedly enrolled, but left, so he may not make the list, but you add Tusha and Newton, that would get you to 21. Ballentine would be 22, if he counts.

Why can't the football folks get the information right on the website? They gave the wrong bio for Cherry for instance. The little details don't matter I guess.

The class looks very athletic/talented to me with a lot of multi-position guys who can fill holes as needed. Not really lots of 3 stars compared to top 4-5 teams in the MAC,but that's normal here.

That puts Ohio up to 20 on the Ohiobobcats.com. There is still no mention of Newton. Also not listed are Michael Ballentine, Xavier Bailey, and Brody Rodgers, who may be preferred walkons. There still remains room for another surprise, I suppose, perhaps two. Leach or Howard would be nice.

This class is heavy on the OL, and adds a lot of speed guys for WR and DB. There aren't any tight ends or defensive tackles, and only one LB, but a very, very good one. There are about four walkons at TE, including the Leuhrman twins. If one or more of the walkons have earned a scholarship, that might explain why there aren't any TE. Similarly, Chuckwu played last year as a walkon DT, and he might have earned his spot. Thus, 20 may be all they give out.
