I'm interested in how you know that Kent players seem demoralized. I'm impressed with their coach and doubt they'll be downtrodden for their homecoming game. Based on our defense, they might see a good chance at victory.
One thing the Paul Haynes staff did well was the strength program. The Flashes played a physical style of defense most like ours with the front seven. Agree with those who say the new staff is well-regarded in recruiting circles. It won’t be long until they’re pretty good. I like this test.
Ohio's OL has lots of starts. Per the Kent game Notes for Ohio, Kent is running a three man front w a 322lb Sr. NG who accounted for 11 tackles vs Ball. Ohio #61 will have his hands full. Not expecting much up the middle til he becomes gassed or rotates out for rest. Turning things around. Not sure if the entire Kent OL began the year with as many starts as Ohio's Meservy and have no Sr.s starting. Normally this would mean a seasoned Ohio DL would dominate, except, well, you know, see bshott44's posts about the Ohio D. Ohio DC, Germano and Collins need to be up late w lots of film on Kent vs ILL, PSU, Ol Miss and Ball. Will be a typical Kent test. Ohio should prevail, but, the Bobcats will know they were in a ball game.
