we had to sign a confidentiality agreement.
So does everyone who works in Government.
Doesn't seem to stop all kinds of information from
leaking out. :-)
Fact check: Worked in federal government for 23 years. Never was asked to sign anything close to a "confidentiality agreement".

Don't know about the Federal Government.

I know,on the local(Municipal /County) level, I've had to sign several Nondisclosure Agreements for various projects, particularly if they involved property acquisitions.

Well the first two are Ohio grads so that’s a plus I would guess. Looking at their resumes, there’s too much verbiage for me to figure out what they’re really about as some say.

I would think having candidates from the Big 10 and SEC is beneficial? Mean's they've seen the mountaintop in many ways, especially at TOSU?

I know Vandy and Miss State aren't top dogs in that league but still compete at a much higher level and see what it takes to succeed.

Whoever it is that's hired, I hope it's someone who raises what the standard of excellence is for the department.

Have an Ohio grad would be nice too, especially given their experience outside of Athens and being able to bring it back to improve things along Richland Avenue.

Should we read into this that Amy Dean is not a series contender / finalist?

I suspect Frank Solich is pushing for Jason Grooms but I see Grooms as #3 in terms of experience and upside.

I don't think the tweet was a complete list of candidates, just the ones known by the tweeter.

Me neither but with NSA it was implicit, not that I worked there....no, I didn't....wasn't me.

Do we know for certain through the vetting process that she has never logged any miles riding on the back of a motorcycle?

There still might be signs of road rash from that inglorious incident.

To be a contender one would have to apply. Which Amy did not apply.

My heart was pulling for Grooms, and my head was pulling for Cromer. I think this is a good hire, and was impressed both by the field, and that they pulled in two OHIO grads into the final four. Good Luck Julie!

Sounds like a good hire, though I think she used every sports bromide and some very strange syntax in her prepared statement, but, hey, she's going be an AD not an English professor. We'll all know a lot more after tomorrow's introduction, and we have a chance to hear her talk. But, her resume looks very good, with a great depth of relevant experience. I think she'll probably do a very good job.

Press conference today at 10. 📍Athens, Ohio

Julie Cromer arrived on campus earlier today, and we can't wait to formally introduce her as OHIO's first female athletics director tomorrow morning! 💚

Wish her the best during her time here!

Any idea what the salary is?

First time poster but very long time lurker. The resume is very impressive and coming from the SEC never hurts but I hope this was the right hire rather than one that is politically / society motivated. I'm sure to get bashed for this (which I shouldn't for expressing an opinion) but I just don't want this hire to be made because she was a woman given all the media bias that is getting shoved down our throats every day. I'm a father of a daughter and want her to earn what's rightfully hers through hard work and not because she is a female. I will 100% support Julie as our AD and want her to succeed more than anyone but when I see a candidate that worked under one of the best AD's in the country (Scott Stricklin at Mississippi State now at THE University of Florida) I'm going to raise an eyebrow.

You would hope that it is at least equal to her predecessor.

So, what's her real last name?

Is it Cromer or Peoples?

This story refers to her as Cromer Peoples (no hyphen).

Just curious.
