So, what's her real last name?

Is it Cromer or Peoples?

This story refers to her as Cromer Peoples (no hyphen).

Just curious.

First time poster but very long time lurker. The resume is very impressive and coming from the SEC never hurts but I hope this was the right hire rather than one that is politically / society motivated. I'm sure to get bashed for this (which I shouldn't for expressing an opinion) but I just don't want this hire to be made because she was a woman given all the media bias that is getting shoved down our throats every day. I'm a father of a daughter and want her to earn what's rightfully hers through hard work and not because she is a female. I will 100% support Julie as our AD and want her to succeed more than anyone but when I see a candidate that worked under one of the best AD's in the country (Scott Stricklin at Mississippi State now at THE University of Florida) I'm going to raise an eyebrow.
Thought this exact same thing. Every announcement post made a big deal about Ohio's FIRST woman Director of Athletics. If you want to mention that somewhere in a press release, fine, but it shouldn't be the headline.

I just hope she's a great addition to the Ohio family and that we can praise or criticize her like any other AD without having to bite our tongues because it's a woman.

I'm curious why you care about what what I care about? Am I living rent free in your head? Also, your response didn't add anything to the conversation, which is par for the course. I said other things about her in this thread, and in the one in the basketball forum. But, placing comments in context has never been your forte.

Since you're probably too lazy to read what I said elsewhere, I'll summarize: prepared quote in initial release had strange word usage and syntax, resume looks very good, very impressed with her 100 day "look, learn and listen" plan, and I think she'll be a good AD.

If there's any agenda here, it sounds like it's yours. You give a cursory hat tip to her experience - about 20 years between the and NCAA and two Power Five programs - and then start a Siberia-bound conspiracy theory.

She'll succeed or fail in the role, just as any of the other finalists would have. And she is eminently qualified, just as each of the other finalists were.

She seems like a good choice to me. I like what she said about scheduling. Wonder if we'll see Arkansas on some upcoming schedules. It does look like she wants to upgrade the schedules in men's and women's bball and football. These are sports that are trending up.

Do not flatter yourself, the most thought I given to you is read your post face palm and MoveOn. You have posted at least three times wanting to know what the new athletic director‘s real name is. Like it really matters. Of all the issues in college porch and in Ohio University for last thing that really matters is which name is “real“.

I enjoy pulling your chain, but trust me you are outside of the Billy the cat border wall when it comes to the brain.

+1. And if anyone made a post about “his daughter” by Kayde is dead he would be furious. His post is nothing but gas lighting

OCF ... Mr. BTC ("I know everything but never played") is back with more condescending posts. Last time I engaged with him he FINALLY acknowledged he was not recruited to play D1. But he sure knows a lot! I'll check back in a few weeks to see what new wisdom he passes along to educate all of us here.

Yeah, Jerry86, I know that BTC thinks very highly of himself, and that he's never been wrong that he can remember. Yes, since he is as perfect as a human being can be, condescension just come naturally to him. We should all feel a debt of gratitude that the mods let us co-exist on the same board as this most magnificent specimen of the human race. But, as perfect as he is, he can't count. I mentioned the "name thing" twice, once on this forum and once in the basketball forum. Unless he's counting the time he quoted my post above in the post he made slamming me for being curious about a name change that was apparently made on the flight from Arkansas to Ohio. (OK, BTC that was hyperbole, please don't take it literally or out of context). Jerry, you did well in getting him to admit anything. He usually likes to dish it out, but doesn't do too well in a give and take conversation.

Jerry, I’ll take to the bank and lay it right here that I’ve done more in the sport of football than you have or ever will at various levels. You may pull that card in basketball, but football, if you want to lay it out there, you’d crawl back into a hole. And congrats, you got recruited to play DI. So did Asa Jewitt and the LaFeral Twins, man that’s a great comparison. Remember you are still getting mad that the basketball staff has more than 3 offers out there for 3 scholarships. As for OCF, if I’m interested in the history of the 23rd OHIO Infantry, the 1st OHIO Infantry, the 7th, 2nd or 8th, then I’d ask OCF. Otherwise no thanks.

Who’s living in who’s head? By the way, new AD is running a shuttle to practice in the morning. All the stops in town, you and the wife can hop one and come down and catch the Bobcats in action.

The contemporary way of evaluating candidates is to look at what pieces a candidate brings to the table. Apparently the hiring committee liked pieces that Julie brought to the table especially her experience in NCAA women's leadership at a level we haven't had at OU before. Keep in mind the athletic department has 10 women's sports to 6 for men. Volleyball and Women's Basketball compete in a MAC with multiple NCAA bids and might have potential for Top 10 success. If Julie was able to get a donor in one of these sports for a new training complex with courts, nutrition center, larger weight room ect. is something that will help the football program too.

I doubt the new AD has anything to do with the shuttle, she doesn’t start work until the 31st. Anyway it’s a good idea.
