So, am I to assume the you’ve been appointed the new AD? When does construction start on the new 45,000 stadium? ;-)

My first few measures:

-new hand dryers

-better Convo pretzels

-Redo of the Convo concourse

-Will be interested to see who comes on next. I was pleasantly surprised to see the level of engagement and support from Cutler Hall when Boals was hired (from what I could see from a distance, at least).

As was posted in the basketball forum, JS is going to be the new commissioner of the Southern Conference. Wonder how long before we know who his replacement will be?

I understand that stadium shuttle service experience is listed as a requirement for the position! ;-)

Of course, Parking Services would place a boot on the shuttle.

I have been a little disconnected with Ohio Athletics the past few years, but I remember being impressed with Mark Wilson during his time in Athens. Whenever I make a donation the University Athletic Department I received a handwritten note and enjoyed meeting him in person a couple of times.

If he has any interest, it seems he should be seriously considered. He's had a long and successful stint at TTU.

Agree. I remember Mark as very professional and saw him as having strong leadership potential.

I agree about Mark Wilson. I also think female candidates should be fairly considered.

This reminds of the Boeh hire. Back then, the search committee submitted their 2 leading candidates to Glidden. Both were women. Glidden’s decision was to pass on both, and if my memory is correct, he first tried to hire someone notable (a former AD?- can’t recall), then re-invited Boeh back for another interview.

I know the 2 women part is correct, shared with me by committee members, the rest is a bit vague. Please correct me or share additional info if anyone has some.

All I know is, I hope that we don't get anyone who comes from the Boeh tree, unless his or her take away from working under Boeh was "do everything opposite from what you saw him do."

A lot of you probably saw a lot more of his work than me and perhaps have a more favorable impression, but I was a student during his time, but he left a bad taste in my mouth.

Several who went on from the Boeh tree were also anti-Boeh in many ways. Of those, only Mark Wilson and Danny White are currently still working, I believe.

Any idea who the women are? Would love to see how they've done for themselves.

Heard from a source with lots of connections in Athens in general and Ohio athletics in particular.

There are or were 5 finalists. Three have previous connections to the University---grads of the sports administration program, previous employment, etc.

It is a diverse group with minority and female applicants.

Could not say when an announcement would be forthcoming.

I have heard that "mid-August" is a rough timeline to make the final decision. Seems logical (but not a necessity) to have someone in place before first football game at home. Finalists expected to be on campus before then.
Take the time needed to get best person available.

Interesting that there is so much information out there. When I was on the committee last time, we had to sign a confidentiality agreement.

So does everyone who works in Government.
Doesn't seem to stop all kinds of information from
leaking out. :-)

I think that general information is shared, but nothing specific.
No names, nothing in background.
Just an overview of the process.
Nothing ,in my opinion that violates and NDA.
