While I agree with this as it relates to staffing and preparation for the big weekends for football and hoops, I'll give Cromer a little time to adapt and improve on the things Schaus' group did.

Secondly, this isn't limited to just Ohio Athletics. The lack of preparation for parents/dads/sibs weekends in terms of staffing in bars and eating establishments could use some improvement as well.
Ms.Cromer didn't officially start as A.D. until August 31.
So I'm sure things had to be kept "status quo",for this year.

Does anyone know if they've had these same problems for previous big events in past years ?

I agree 100% about staffing for big event weekends.

One notable exception is the O.U. Inn.
They always seem prepared.

My wife and are coming out to Athens in November and staying at the O.U. Inn.So I just jinxed that trip. :-)

That Bobcat Club Tent food issue is unacceptable.
It's HOME COMING, bigger than normal crowd should have been planned for.
NO EXCUSE IS ACCEPTABLE.
AD needs to look into.

I've never understood this, OU/Athens has about 10 weekends throughout the year where it gets super busy. Yet it seems like they keep staffing at the normal level with the exception of maybe an extra bar back. You have all year to plan and these things really hurt the image to visitors and alumni

I'm hesitant to put this on Cromer .... just yet. It's not like she's come in and cleaned house and staffed the entire department with "her" people.

And honestly ... the Bobcat Club's inability to staff a tailgate is about 1,000,000,000 in the pecking order of things she should be involved with.

But yes ... it's absurd they can't get this right. Maybe in due time, she'll start shaping the staff the way she see's fit ... or at worst set some better expectations. I agree Bobcat Club is a pipeline to money for the athletic dept and it does serve as a important link to donors. But to think the AD should have her finger on whether or not there's enough pulled pork for a tailgate is kind of silly.

I think we'll see a more well-organized effort on these kind of things going forward once she gets her feet wet. She was known for bringing in money in her previous stops ... so I'm sure she knows how to make it happen. For now, we're taxiing the runway wrapping up the Schaus era

Small details that the AD needs to knock out of the park. Off to a shaky start.
Did anyone see her at TailGreat? I was bopping between tents and in several deep conversations and may have missed her if she made rounds.

Would have been nice also to see the new basketball coach and some of his squad parading through the tents introducing themselves.

You do know both men’s and women’s teams were in front of Peden before the game and at least Boals was there. I saw Coach Boals in Zook. Jeff has been all over campus according to the Post and my grandson.

Did the Green and White Club ever run out of food 2 hours before game time. Asking for a friend?

Was going to reply to this thread about six posts ago and then stumbled on this last post. Homecoming. Sure we had a bit of a line but we also served 1200 people for a mere $100 a year for your whole family. Did I mention that we had four or five kinds of beer plus a wine table? Bring a guest? $10. You can thank our old "friend" Jimbo for kiling that golden goose. And those folks were volunteers. Oh my.

In listening to Frank's press conference, I noticed his comment related to the size of the Kent State O & D lines. I took a look as as well and discovered exactly what he was referring to.
Offensive Line Sizes Average: Ohio 6'4" 309, Kent 6'4" 283
Defensive Line Sizes Average: Ohio 6'4" 266, Kent 6'0" 243

We have a 65lb weight difference on O compared to Kent's D. This difference is much greater than usual and should help in our running game.

Last I saw, we were 8pt favorites. I bet Kent State +8.

We haven't shown the ability to pull away and win, I don't see us winning by more than one score.

Alas, I think we will win. It will be a very hard fought game as usual.

Terrible start, but not surprised.

I think the radio just said this was the 6th straight game we've started behind.

Why did we have a run stopping LB on a Slot WR?

3rd and goal and they go 5 wide. We still have 4 pass rushers and 2nd string LB on a speedy receiver. Go 3-4 defense in 5 wide and bring an extra DB in. Playcalling stinks right now on D.

U beat me to the comments but atleast we are thinking the same. Its conservative as hell and pissing me off as a former player. Now it should make sense what Evans was saying. As a player you have to play what's called. Doesnt mean you're in the best position to win that play.

A 'Zero Blitz' on 3rd and 16. That's what you call on goalline. Not on the 50.

Ron. Collins. Must. Go. Awful hire at the time. He did not deserve it at the time and is showing his greenness. Burrow I hate to say at least play called better.

The run game is supposed to bend the opposing D to the bobcats will. Hasn't worked this season but in this game it might with the size differential.

No discipline, just terrible defensive back play, a DC that seems way over his head, and an OC who seems to have quit after the first drive of the second half. Welcome to Ohio football today.

Quick question..does Javon Hagan play for us anymore? If he does and is still 7 can he please quit trying to make highlights and just make tackles? Asking for a friend.
