I was surprised to see just how many tickets are still available. Big chunks in the ends of the press box bleachers and the northwest wing. I imagine a massive student turnout and a disappointing townie/alum turnout. I'll go 21-22K

Cuse season ticket sales actually doing well...however, I fear we lose 10K due to Covid, Mobile Ticketing and cashless concessions. Lots of luddites in the fan base.

There's also now a lot of tickets for sale in the northeast wing. I believe some of the former O Zone sections on the student side are now opposing team guest tickets, but I guess Syracuse might have just been released of their allotment window.

I hope for 20,000 but I'll guess 16,500.

Where is the game program with the 2 deep roster? I.E.Game Notes?

GO BOBCATS
I posted a link to Syracuse's game notes in the original post. Ohio usually comes out with game notes on Tuesday of game week.

Any idea on how big the visiting allotment is? 2000?

Wow, looking at their 2-deep; Syracuse is YOUNG.

Looks like they play a 3-3-5 stack on defense? That's probably my favorite defensive formation. Their entire defensive backfield is true freshman! Also a good sign when our offensive line and defensive line starters are bigger than those of a P5 school.

Edit: Digging a bit deeper, their secondary is mostly sophomores listed as freshman because they didn't lose a year of eligibility due to COVID... Point still stands, a very young team.

Does anyone know of any places to stay that still has availability?

Not sure what to expect with this game but I feel as if it's a must win game to kick off the Albin tenure. Syracuse is the Kansas of the ACC (at least for the past 2 years).

Let's go Bobcats!

The past few openers we were a little slow and not very physical. I assumed it was due to the fact that we were limiting contact in practice to reduce injuries and scout teams speed is not like what you see on game day.
It seems like it took the first half to get everything in sync. Hopefully we don't dig a hole early.

Any guess at attendance on Saturday?
Good question. I'll guess 24,184.

This has all the makings of a great crowd: home-opener, first college football game for freshman, P5 opponent with name recognition, weather looks good (chance of rain overnight on Saturday but right now it looks like it won't hit until after the game) and also it's a blackout game (look at my avatar for what that looks like!)

I do wonder if COVID-fears might keep some away, but on the flip-side I think a lot of people are more anxious for college football than ever which might bump attendance up
It is also band day (night) for the high school bands.

What a dumb ass move. Why not do it for Duquesne game, which screams band day attendance boost? Ugh.

!!!

HS Band day is the worst. Cuts into the 110 time, fills the stands with disinterested high schoolers, bleh. For the first time, glad that Family Vacation coincided with the Syracuse game (thus preventing me from watching the game in person)

Does anyone know the status of WR Cox or RG Meservy for this week? Albin talked on his coaches show about the WR group but did not mention Cox. Also, he said Brody Rodgers or Hoover were starting at RG and Amburgey at RT.

Kind of kills the "blackout" atmosphere too since 20% of the stadium will be a rainbow of uniforms. Definitely guarantees a good attendance game.

I do not see Daxon listed on the 2 deep depth chart for the game.
Does anyone know the reason?

I guess the good news is all four of these guys ARE listed on the gameday roster. Isiah Cox is even listed as the 3rd string punt returner!

Hopefully we don't have unknown injury issues. Or eligibility. I'm anxious to finally see Daxon on the field.

Or covid issues. My son's dorm was classified at Level 2 yesterday when a couple guys tested positive. It means that less than 5% of the kids tested positive but it took only about a week for that to happen.

HS Band Day for an opener against Syracuse? J-O-K-E.

Masks are mandatory indoors according to emails and Tweets. That will go over well.

I am curious to see if the infamous "social distancing" joke is enforced inside the stadium.

So masks and social distancing required in the restrooms? I'm good w/both of those :)

Will there be inside or outside of the restrooms "mask" police/OUPD? :)

There has to be a good "two guys in the restroom/at urinals/trough" COVID joke here.... :)
