Aside from an absolute shellacking by either team, I don't think any outcome would surprise me. I have no idea what to expect. Under Solich, I feel like we've done well against bad P5 teams, so maybe that carries over some. Hope I'm wrong but I'll say Syracuse wins 27-23. Attendance 21,944.

I'm bringing my four year old and want to have a plan for the day. Been awhile since I've gone over to Tailgreat Park for pregame. Are there food vendors or trucks there usually?

Although he has a losing record overall at Syracuse, Dino is 3-0 at G5 teams (UConn 31-24 in 2016, WMU 55-42 in 2018, Liberty 24-0 in 2019), so there's cause for concern. Plus he's familiar with our system from his time at BG, beating us badly twice, so unless Albin does something different you might be right.

I think it comes down to our O line controlling the game, our defense pressuring the QB and forcing turnovers, and maybe biggest of all, our kicking game. I doubt we can win a high-scoring game, so keep them under 30 and we should be ok.

I kind of like the lack of information I've been able to find on the team. I've been trying to figure out our defensive starters with little success, so hopefully Syracuse is also flying blind.

I think those were our worst defensive teams of the solich era, granted, but I think it's silly not to be concerned and silly to put too much weight on anything that happened last year.

I think this is the first time we've played a team whose name is a color since we beat the North Texas Mean Green 31-30 in 2OTs in 2009. I think Stanford is the only other such team in D1A (aka FBS).

Announced as a blackout game. Good thing that cooler weather is predicted. Last Saturday night game in Athens? Marshall 2015?

Regardless of whether I'm right on my guess, let's hope it's a similar night with a similar outcome! That was one for the books!

Good question. I'll guess 24,184.

This has all the makings of a great crowd: home-opener, first college football game for freshman, P5 opponent with name recognition, weather looks good (chance of rain overnight on Saturday but right now it looks like it won't hit until after the game) and also it's a blackout game (look at my avatar for what that looks like!)

I do wonder if COVID-fears might keep some away, but on the flip-side I think a lot of people are more anxious for college football than ever which might bump attendance up
