I think you are watching the Texas-Bama game. Our jerseys are green and white and the game is on ABC.
Very funny.

My expectations are realistic. I have no delusions about competing for a win, I’m just happy to see the defense playing competitively and not letting things get out of hand, and finally a good offensive drive as well. Putting up some points and not letting it become a complete blowout is fine by me.
Realistic? I thought it was realistic that we lose by like 21 before the game. Now I think it’s realistic that we lose by 40. They’ve actually gone above and beyond realistic in that sense.

When I was in the 8th grade my team only won one game and it was 100% due to trick plays. After the game my coach chewed the entire team out talking about how cheap of a win it was and how trick plays are for teams that suck. He was 10,000% right. We put up a few points because we were cheap and the other team wasn’t paying attention. We didn’t impose any sort of will on them. We just tied their shoes together and they shrugged it off.
Thanks for your insight coach. Comparing to your 8th grade team ... lol. Calling Rourke a bum, as you did, is classless.
Yes, he is a gigantic bum who should be watching the game on the sidelines. I think it’s more telling that a D1 school has less pride than a Catholic middle school team.

Sounds like your coach is not only a bad coach, but also a dick.
Give me a break Dr. Spock. That coach sent two of his own kids to the NFL. I can tell by that complacent attitude you voted for this demented moron we have in office.

Let’s face it, we are outmatched offensively. Defensively we’ve stopped them up the middle but we’ve given up the edge all day long.

Who called the trick plays? Not the coach? You all didn't practice them? These were unpracticed, improvised trick plays? Very confused.

This is like his boomers started complaining about how millennials were made soft by participation trophies, as if they weren't the ones buying and handing out the participation trophies. Like kids were ordering trophies for themselves, or something.

That's why everyone says the Boise State/Oklahoma Fiesta bowl was the worst game ever played, very dishonorable to Boise State to beat Oklahoma the way they did. When they needed to score late in the game they should have done the honorable thing and just run the ball between the tackles 15 times in a row so that they could "impose any sort of will on them".

Loser.

Exactly. It's just like how people constantly point out that the US win over Russia in the Miracle on Ice was a cheap win, because their second goal was scored after Russia thought the period had ended.

The US didn't impose their will. They got a lucky goal. And real Americans know that, and will tell you it was a cheap win and then lecture you about politics if you disagree.

Also the plot of Little Giants, Mighty Ducks, and literally every other youth sports movie. No wonder the demented moron got so many votes. Kids are being groomed.

If only BobcatLackey's 8th grade coach had gotten the opportunity to yell at more 13 year olds. America would be a different place.

This, to me, is the sort of thing that people who have been in the game a long time and expect things a certain way say. Utilizing the forward pass was once a gimmick. Four wide sets were once a gimmick. Designing your BBall offense around getting 3s was once a gimmick. Billy Beane's way of building a baseball team was once a gimmick. Anything that catches a coach relying on 40 years of experience to counter what the other team is doing off his guard is a gimmick to that coach. It might not apply entirely to your coach here since he probably called some of those plays. But if you have something the other team isn't ready for do it. Doing something else because you want to "impose your will" is just macho crap.

I've always felt that gambling on football is a cheap way to earn money. You're not imposing your will through working hard. Just sitting on your couch, complacently, hoping to take financial advantage of the hard work of others.

If you really wanted to make money on football, you should have worked harder, imposed your will, and played in the NFL.

Crazy how lazy Americans have become. Just looking for free money, and not willing to work for it. I bet I know exactly who you voted for for state comptroller.
