Just curious, but how would you react if Ohio did win? Would be actually be sick inside, despite the green and white on the outside?

As regards Ohio players that might start for Ohio State, how many Ohio State receivers were drafted ahead of Price last year?  Unless the answer is 3, perhaps he could have started for OSU. Ohio has had a player drafted each of the last three years. It is quite possible that Ohio will have another drafted this year, perhaps Keller or Brazill. If they do, you may find that your comment was wrong.

LC, I would be elated.  Not quite Georgetown win elated, but close.

Now, check some facts before you spout off dead-end questions.  How many Ohio State receivers declared for the draft?  None.  They return their top 4 WRs.  Keller may get drafted.  He would be lucky to sniff time as OSU's 3rd LB this year, as Sweat is likely still better.

Two years ago the perfect scenario happened for OU.  USC loomed ahead, Beanie was hurt, Tressel had no idea who his QB was for most of the game, and the O-line was bbaaaadddddd.  We took advantage.  This year's OSU is much different and I believe it doesn't matter how much better we may be.  They destroyed a Marshall team that beat us last year.  While this doesn't mean a whole lot, it is a measuring stick of sorts.  My forecast remains the same.

Todd Boeckman was clearly the starter going into 2008, and Pryor was just getting some token snaps in the first couple games. He was also being primed and hyped for a big senior year around these parts. I think we had a hand in his demise. We were very effective covering their receivers and we put a decent amount of pressure on him. Tressel panicked and reopened the qb comp that week and the rest is history.

The curtain on Beckman's career was coming anyway, go back and read reports, that entire situation was a matter of time, and the goal was to get Pryor reps before their big game with USC.  We gave them some problems with our pressure, as well as everyone else did that year, as that may be the worse they have ever been upfront.

One thing that I think is certain is that Ohio State will not overlook Ohio. Regardless of whether they win or lose the prior week, there are enough people left who remember the last game. However it plays out, I'm sure it will be a hard-fought, very physical competitive game on both sides. What more could you ask for? I'm looking forward to it.

There's a couple things that haven't been mentioned:

1.) Frank's teams haven't been blown out in any game for a few years now. His teams have almost always been competitive.

2.) We tend to play up and down depending on our level of competition.

3.) Our guys will leave it ALL on the field in Columbus. A&M...not so much.

Historically speaking, I'll be shocked if it's a 3 TD or more difference.

The 2005 team lost by more than 25 three times. (Virginia Tech 45-0, CMU 37-10, Redchickens 38-7). Since then Ohio has lost my more than 25 only once. (2007, Toledo 43-0). There have been numerous losses in the 21-25 point range, however.

What did you think about our chances before the game a couple of years back?

I thought we would lose, and we did.  At no point did I think we would hold on for the win.  And at no point were any OSU fans even nervous that they wouldn't pull it out.

Were you the one who posted that not one of our starters could start for columbus?

Sure was.  I stand by it.

Who was the best linebacker on the field two years ago?  Hint:  He wasn't named Laurinaitis (sp?); he wore #47 in Green and White.

His name actually was Laurinaitus, who led OSU with 9 tackles and had a pick.  Keller had 7 tackles that day, and he is a nice player.  The Laurinaitus guyyou speak negatively off -- all he was doing last year was leading the NFC in rookie tackles, and finishing 2nd in the entire NFL in rookie tackles, behind some guy who will be sitting out a few games this year for testing positive for PHDs.  Yeah, he wasn't the best linebacker on the field.

Please think before you spout off useless banter.

Ozcat, you ignorant slut, why--really, why--do you make such ignorant comments as 'at no point were any OSU fans nervous' about losing.  We led that game into the fourth quarter and columbus wasn't doing anything.  Except get beat.  By an O-H-I-O (a team which you might enjoy rooting for if you weren't so scarlet and gray) team which finished 4-8.  When any team is down with about 12 minutes to go in a game, the team and their fans fear losing--more so when the team that is then losing is such a heavy favorite.

My memory on the specifics is dim.  I think that columbus had already gone ahead via a td when they scored another on the punt return featurning the most obviously clip in the history of football.  So, that columbus td was capital T tainted.  Now your score's closer.

I admit that I'm O-H-I-O biased (whereas you're columbus biased) but if you watched that game, then you know that #47 OHIO was the dominant/influential linebacker that day.

Aren't you embarrassed for making such a stupid remark as 'no OHIO starter would play for columbus?'

I know that we're biased here.  But why don't you put that up on as a poll on this board and as a poll on the columbus board which you so obviously love.  Let's see what kind of agreement or not that you get.

Were you right a couple of years ago?  Would no starter for OHIO have started for columbus in 2008?  If so, explain whey that wasn't a 40 or 50 point columbus blow out ...of a 4-8 OHIO team.

Whoa!  That Toledo game in 2007 was 43-40, not 43-0.

If you're going to quote me, please get it right.

We have a few players that would PLAY for the Buckeyes.  I do not believe we have any that would START for them THIS SEASON.

Your brilliance is glaring with every response.  Keep it coming while I go find some sunglasses...

Whoa! That does sound more like it. I didn't remember any blowout like that at all, but was taking numbers directly from the "History" section of the Ohio Bobcats Media Guide, as currently posted on ohiobobcats.com. Someone needs to fix that!
Here's the link, and it's at page 123, 32/48:

Oct. 20th at Toledo it clearly says "0-43", and I'm looking at it now.

I heard that as well, it is there version of the Nike Combat Jersey, we will be the first ones to wear them, pretty interesting take on a new look.  I wasn't going to mention this but since someone through it out there.  These are off the wall, and will use a third color.

I think we should be more concerned right now with Toledo instead of looking ahead to the game after that.  I think we are going to have a much tougher time with the Rockets than the betting line would indicate.  I was not impressed by what I saw against Wofford, especially the poor passing game. (Yes I know Brazil didn't play) and the inability to stop the run.

I think Oxford Tech (South) is way overrated and the Bugeyes should dispense with them without too much trouble.  I view this game much as I do any matchup between the Steelers and the Ravens.  That is, I don't really care who wins or loses, I just hope for as many season-ending injuries as possible. (I know, I'm a horrible person for saying so, so please spare me the lectures).

Having said all of that, I recall that I bet a Georgetown Alumni friend of mine three pounds of Slovenian sausage and a case of beer straight up that the Bobcats would beat the Hoyas.  Everybody thought I was nuts.  My buddy still hasn't paid up but that is OK as I am waiting for just the right moment to collect.

Unfortunately, my one buddy who went to A&M is out of a job and I wouldn't want to take advantage of him in the same manner given his circumstances.  What is a fair wager with somebody who is out of work?  I'm thinking of making him wear my Ohio Alumni cap to one of  his kid's soccer games (with photographic evidence, of course).  I'm probably more concerned about what he will do to ME in the unlikely event Ohio should lose.

Many things to respond to, but I'm gonna key in on one.  Saying no Buckeye fan was worried about losing at any point that game is extremely ridiculous.  You seem like a stubborn individual who is tough to persuade, and I can relate, but you gotta back off this comment.  Millions of Buckeye fans watch their team trailing in the 4th quarter and yet no one was worried they would lose.  Seriously?

Wow....this is the first I have heard of this?  When will we get a look at them and what is the 3rd color?  I hope it's black and not something completely off the wall.

Word has it they asked Frank Solich's input on the new alternate uniforms and he came up with this as a starting point:

All I know is I've been a student at OU for 3 football seasons now. I have never seen us get blown out no matter who we play. V-Tech 3 years back was 7-7 later in the game, OSUcks 2 years back we essentially should have won, and Tennessee last year probably could have been ours if not for a heel being out of bounds on a huge interception return late in the game.

I hate the Buckeyes with a passion and any true Bobcat fan wouldn't be persuaded by the yearly Suckeye media bias. When they can win a bowl game vs a legitimate BCS opponent I'll be impressed. This game will not be a blow out, Solich always has his teams prepared for big time opponents and this time won't be any different.

Forgive me if I'm not scared by the most overrated Heisman contender to come around in a while in pryor and a bunch of other no names.

I'll be there on the 18th sporting the green and white and tailgating the hell out of that lame ass campus. GO BOBCATS!!!!

Just saw on PTI that Pryor is requesting that suckeye fans go easy on Lebron if he decides to attend the Miami game. I like that I can now associated the suckeyes with Lebron, doubling my hatred for both.
