Many things to respond to, but I'm gonna key in on one.  Saying no Buckeye fan was worried about losing at any point that game is extremely ridiculous.  You seem like a stubborn individual who is tough to persuade, and I can relate, but you gotta back off this comment.  Millions of Buckeye fans watch their team trailing in the 4th quarter and yet no one was worried they would lose.  Seriously?

Agree...All the fine folks sitting within earshot of our seats sure sounded worried...

Strange as this may seem, during the game I was continually updating and reading a chat thread on an Ohio State forum. Were they worried? Well, I must say that the Buckeye fans impressed me with their sportsmanship - They weren't content that they had already taken Theo out of the game (and for the year), there were multiple posts hoping that the defense would be able to injure Boo as well. I must say that I've never, ever seen any fans of any team rooting for their team to injure players of the other team, except that day. Were they worried? Ummm ... yeah, they were worried, and pretty pathetic, too.

I vividly remember the postgame radio host on Columbus radio kept calling him Boo Radley, as if it were the funniest thing he had ever thought of in his life. "We almost got beat by BOO RADLEY!? BOO RADLEY almost beat us! I swear, he looked just like Robert Duval, didn't he? Didn't Boo Radley look like Robert Duval? Ha!"

Then one of the callers said they couldn't believe the Buckeyes almost lost to a Division III team. He was completely serious.

A brilliant, brilliant set of folks, those radio call-in shows showcase.

I have to say Buckeye fans are the worst fans in NCAA athletics. It must be embarrassing for the university.

And that is why it is not possible to root for columbus in any way and still claim to be a Bobcat fan.

In the spirit of the original thread, I am not rooting for ,or against Ohio State.  They are simply another school I did not attend, therefore I do not care about them.  In related news, I do not care how Florida, Alabama or USC do this weekend either.  I know many think they have justified their adoration for multiple schools, but I just don't get it.  My brother went to Cincinnati, my parents went to Kent, my grandfather went to OSU, I occasionally go to WVU to watch a game and I watched an SMU game on TV as a kid once.  None of these is a valid reason to think I can have multiple loyalties because one time in my life, they were "my team".  Once I enrolled at Ohio University, that became my team.  Period.

I was just looking at some A&M boards and apparently some of those guys over there get really offended when we forget our place and actually believe in OUr team, and not acquiesce to the all mighty greatness of the Red and Silver. Evidently our ability to root for our own team should only be done so within the proper context. I also learned that Athens is not a fun place either. I get a sense from their misplaced rage and utter contempt for little old OHIO that most of them have never known the touch of a woman.

So let's remember our places guys and not get too excited about the Bobcats...it hurts their feelings.

Let's remember our places by trudging up to Columbus every other year or so to get paid to be reminded of our place in the pecking order.

Why don't we make Ohio State sweat our games out? Next time they call and offer us a lot of money, let's tell them we will play, but we get to pick the spot. All the money goes to our travel to a destination of our choice to play vs. tOSU.

I choose Europe. Sure, our fans won't go, but at least we'll test the willingness of tOSU fans to travel to Europe to watch their beloved Buckeyes play in a game against a team they perceive as beneath them.

Some of us can bask in the free trip to Europe and, if we win...some of those Ohio State fans will get arrested by a police force used to dealing with European Football fans, not some lame ass American university students/alumni who can't figure out that being 50 years old and wearing the jersey of an 19 year old is just a little creepy.

Have you ever been to a SEC stadium?  Or WVU?  I have, with the 110, and I remember getting beer thrown on us.  I've never seen anyone wearing scarlet or grey chucking beer towards the 110.

And yes, OSU is very embarassed that in pretty much every city in this country there is scarlet and grey on gameday.  They're also very embarassed that they fill 75+ percent of every bowl game stadium they play in every year.

So there are a lot of Ohio State fans...Way to prove a point that no one was arguing.

This is a good way of describing how they view our fandom.  When someone finds out Im not an OSU fan, they ask me who I root for, and their response is typically "Yeah, but....like, who do you really root for?"  They think we should just be fans like our buddy OzCat, where we love our Bobcats but forever view them as the harmless little brother of the REAL team.

Maybe the problem lies in our rice paper thin skin.

When someone asks me who I root for I tell them "Ohio" and when they question it I shrug my shoulders.

Seriously...what do you want from them? Do you want them to hug you and congratulate you on your initiative?

You can't be anything other than a patsy when you cry every time someone questions your faithfulness to a college athletic department.

Suck it up Bobcat faithful. Grow a pair.

Well....dude (settle down Spicoli)...there are near 5 or 6 threads on here about how Ohio State fans treat us bad and we get sooooo mad!

Stomp your feet...clinch jaw...this is a whole lot of windmills and b.s. we're upset about in these Ohio State conversations.

We should just stop playing them every other year and complying to their less than honest attempt to have an in state rival.

I generally cheer for OSU except when they play us, then I pray like heck that we clobber them as much as possible because here in Cleveland OSU might as well be our 3rd sports team behind the Browns and the Lebron-less CAVs.

I will say though that when it was in Mobile after the GMAC loss, I couldn't help but hope that Ohio State would beat Florida to win the championship.  The Alabama people were so smug about the SEC.  At the end of the day I'm an Ohioan and Ohio State is the best this state has (as far as football goes).

Needless to say, man I'm a pulling for OU to beat OSU next week!!!!  Can you imagine, in the same year we beat #3 ranked (in the Regional bracket) Georgetown in March Madness then beat #2 overall Ohio State in football?!?!?  I'd have bragging rights over my friends for years!

Ok take for instance Texas vs OSU at Ohio Stadium. I went to the game with my dad people sitting next to us were texas fans and they had two little kids with them probably like 5 and 11 years old. During the course of the game fans through everything they could at these people hit the kids with flying objects and they parents went and bought osu shirts for all of them so they wouldnt have to deal with that anymore. That is sad at OU we would never treat people like that and im proud. And why dont you just go to bucknuts or something, your obviously not a true fan so just stop, its really annoying.

Watching intermittently, ohio state is pretty good.  Their O and D lines are tough; if we play them solid there, we have a decent chance.  Miami interceptions and dropped passes are killing them--we wouldn't win in MAC if we dropped balls and gave up multi-interceptions.

I do not like you. Also, I see no one wearing scarlet and grey here, ever. So there goes that theory.

Del, if you don't wanna like me because of my preference of college teams, go for it.  I will lose no sleep.

Bucks win, Notre Dame loses.  Let's hope OU wins and caps off my perfect day.
