. . . OH and couldn't there have been a real OHIO win in Columbus if a certain guy hadn't muffed a punt, a cheating official decides not to cheat and throws the flag and the wide open streaking receiver catches Bo's bomb instead of letting it go right through his finger tips while 10 yards past the nearest Buckeye.

SNAKE BITTEN Solich
And, don't forget the blatant clipping not called on the Buckeye's go-ahead TD.
I’ve got $20 that says you don’t know what clipping is.

And funny on this board if Ohio gives up a halftime lead it’s lack of adjustments. But under Frank it’s player failure.

A clip, as I recall, is defined as a player blocking an opponent from the back at the waste or below. I do remember a few things from the athletic officiating class I took from Jack Rhodes back in the day. Where do I collect my $20?

P.S. Though I was at the stadium, I was also listening to the game on the radio and our astute announcer also pointed out of the clip. Is it possible that we both were wrong?

You do have the definition of a clip and what occurred wouldn’t be classified as a clip on the best day. At best a BIB and a weak one at that.

Sounds like someone is admitting ("You do have the definition of a clip") that he owes OCF $20 based on his offer ("I’ve got $20 that says you don’t know what clipping is.").

You’ll lose then, because next game I’ll gladly pay OCF when I see him at the tailgate.

Hypothetical: if you were the coach of a pretty decent to strong Power Five school, would you fire a family member (your son) if he was not good at his job (offensive coordinator)?

Any closet Iowa fans here? How much longer can Ferentz keep up this charade? His son is obviously in way over his head. Their defense continues to be unbelievable, and this is the year they could take the top spot in the Big Ten West, but their offense is just so, so, so, so, so bad. I had to look it up, but the younger Ferentz has been OC for six years now.

It helps when your mom is married to the coach.....

You know as well as I do all it takes is one booster to make the call and Kirk will have to make a decision. I don't foresee that situation playing out all that well to be honest and could get very ugly in Iowa where Ferentz walks on account of this. Question is, who would Iowa go get. Logically speaking, there is only one name that makes sense here if he wants to come out of retirement, but that ain't gonna happen.

Unfortunately, I'll miss the NIU game. I'll be at a ceremony near Ashland, Ohio, where my 99-year-old cousin will be receiving a Quilt of Honor from the State SAR for his WWII service. I can PM BTC with my mailing address!

And there's another guy in the conference at another team who would fit too. If they have shirts that are big enough.

Charlotte has fired Will Healy. He was 15-24 in the middle of his 4th season.

Auburn has finally parted ways with Bryan Harsin. Not shocking at all unfortunately considering the current circumstances on The Plains. He walked into a dumpster fire of boosters and coaches meddling in the football process. And they also don't currently have an Athletic Director. Will be interesting to see if he heads back West.

And they hired an assistant from Michigan who has been coaching in college for 1 full year and this year I think. Yikes

He's been the AHC at Michigan for two seasons. Pretty well thought of in Ann Arbor. Harbaugh's right-hand man for many years, and apparently their #1 recruiter.

He spent a lot of time coaching in high school winning 13 state titles in 19 years.

He left in 2016 to spend one year at Michigan before returning to the high school ranks as head coach at St. Frances Academy, a program he personally funded. He coached current Michigan RB Blake Corum.

He's a little older, but certainly brings some level of experience. Also went to Duke, so maybe that's his North Carolina tie-in.

Nick Saban also put out a release congratulating him... not sure I saw how he knows Saban, but it's clear people think highly of his ability.

“Congratulations to Mike Hill and the Charlotte 49ers for a great hire. Biff Poggi will generate excitement and success for the program. The players will love playing for him and the coaches will love working with him. Get ready to win!” - Saban

Yeah Charlotte was kind of in a weird situation here with their impending move to the AAC. They're severly lacking in funds and recruiting and won't receive an AAC check after being in the league until at least Year 2, maybe Year 3. They're hoping this guy who has a background working in finance can help entice the banking community of Charlotte raise dollars for an after thought program. You don't wanna hand this job to a young coach who will get chewed up and spit out.

In the days of the NIL, I would think a young energetic coach could get healthy fast with all the money in that city.

they tried that route with healy. he was a hit on campus and talk radio but never penetrated the business community. UNCC has struggled tapping into the community (business, financial, overall community). this is a conscious effort to address the first two. NIL in charlotte will be from the dukes, bank americas of uptown. this guy is already connecting with them. will be interesting.

Gotta get that money coming your [program's] way for that to be the case. To date, that hasn't happened. NOT saying that it won't happen, but I suspect there is a lot of pre-existing loyalty to (in no particular order) UNC, NC State, Duke, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, UGA, Georgia Tech, and Clemson to overcome.

So Shaw quits at Stanford. Fitzgerald should do the same at Northwestern as well. It’s time for some of those long time guys to move on.
