To the OHIO football team,

Well the game got off to a shaky start with Miami not relenquishing
the ball to our offense for quite some time, but one thing did start
off right and that was the defense by setting the tone right away
by sacking the quarterback. As well as the offense played, the
defense also had its best game of the season. Here is to looking
forward to more great performances game by game to lead us
back to Detroit.

To the Offense, you had 4 big plays this game and once again showed
balance in the rushing and passing game and your attack is really
starting to roll as a result. This game featured 3 touchdowns by running
backs with a big 56 yard run by Davidson and a 48 yard run by Harden.
The offensive line played well to open up the running attack and protect
the quarterback once again only giving up one sack on the game. Also,
in another first this season, previously we had Phil break 100 yards, but
this game featured the first 100+ yard rushing runningback of the season
with Davidson registering a career high 103 yards on the ground. You
efforts have earned you your best donation total of the season.

 $0.02  per 3 rushing yards                                                      x 222 =  $3.70
 $0.01  per 6 passing yards                                                    x 149 =  $0.75
 $1.00   per big (25 yd.) play                                                         x 4 =  $4.00
 $3.00  for a touchdown                                                                x 5 =  $15.00
 $1.00  per quarter with no sacks                                              x 1 =  $1.00
 $0.50  each rushing 1st down on 3rd or 4th                           x 3 =  $1.50
 $10.00  per 100 rushing yard player (more than one okay) x 1 =  $10.00
 $6.00  for each rushing touchdown by a runningback          x 3 =  $18.00
                                                                                                   TOTAL =  $53.95

To the Defense, like the Offense you also registered your best donation
total of the season in the 'Challenge so far. Especially impressive were
your 6 turnovers that included 4 picks off of a very talented quarterback
in Dysert. The defensive line really responded in putthing pressure on
the quarterback and registered 5 sacks, which I am sure worked into
the team being able to get so many picks so great team unit effort overall.
The defensive also registed a team high total of 48 combined TFL yards
which worked into limiting Miami to just 11 yards on the ground and
forcing them to become one dimensional. For your excellent efforts on
the day, we the donors award you with the following donations.

      $0.03  per tackle x 52                             =  $1.56
w/  $0.08  bonus for every TFL yard  x 48 =  $3.84
      $1.20  per sack  x 5                                =  $6.00
      $2.50  per turnover x 6                           =  $15.00
      $1.25  per shutout quarter   x 2            =  $2.50
                                                          TOTAL =  $28.90

To Special Teams, not as many punt yards as usual, but Hershey did
register a key punt inside the 20 that pinned the Redhawks back behind
the 5 yard line which was very good to see. Carrie got 18 yards on 3
attempts on punt returns and Donte got 58 yards on 3 attempts on
kick returns. We had another miss of an extra point and another field
goal block that need to get corrected, but a good performance overall.
For your efforts, the donors award you with the following donations.

 $0.45  per extra point                  x 4 =  $1.80
 $0.80  per punt inside the 20   x 1 =  $0.80
 $0.06  per kick return yard       x 58 =  $3.48
 $0.10  per punt return yard      x 18 =  $1.80
 $0.02  per net punt yard        x 193  =  $3.86
                                                  TOTAL =  $11.74

Hello all,

Well the Halloween theme of this game was apparently
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde with Edward Hyde making his
appearance in the first half. Fortunately, unlike what wasn't
necessarily the case in the past, we were able to recover
somewhat in the second half and then do just enough to
scratch this win out on our way to bowl eligibility.

Here are the totals for all the donors right now. If I am not
mistaken, we did have our first awarding of the "Cardiac
Challenge" by winning the game on the final play on defense
if that is okay with bobcat2nc. Also, who would have thought
we would see another $100 awarded to special teams for
a fake punt for a first down that involved Hershey jumping
over someone so soon in what was was a trick for Louisiana
and a treat for the Ohio fans.

1 colobobcat66 $513.19
2 bobcat2nc $286.19
3 Dan's Mom $214.21
4 Bobcatbob $195.95
5 Monroe Slavin, CPA $142.00
6 Carolina Cat $131.00
7 Scott Woods $110.00
8 bobcatgrad $106.16
9 CeramicBobcat $73.02
10 Bobcat36 $51.41

$12...maybe because I'm feeling juvenile and want to jump ahead of Carolina Cat's fine efforts (sorry, C.C.)...and only $12 because for our 9th game of the year against a not-so-good team at Peden at a time when we need to build the program (home attendance and fan fervor!) that was not up to the desired level yesterday.

To the OHIO football team,

Well, you stumbled at first and then picked it up in the
second half. Continued to get  sacks which was good,
but need to get more turnovers and definitely have to
watch out for onside kicks more. But in the end, a win is
a win and becoming bowl eligible once again this year is
definitely a good thing. Also, this string of wins marks
a great turnaround to how things were going at the start of
the season.

Now onto the Bulls who have beaten Bowling Green who
you beat badly and lost to Miami in what should be another
very winnable MAC game.

To the Offense, well another pretty high scoring game which
was good to see after sputtering a bit after getting the first
quick score. Good to see Boo have the poise to come back
and have a good game in then 2nd half and hit some really
good passes. Also nice to see the TE get thrown into the mix
with a record setting touchdown reception for Boo. Once again
we rushed for more than we scored which is really saying
something because Bates had no rushes in this game. You
had two big plays not counting Bussey's 24 yard TD. For your
efforts, we award you with the following donations.

 $  0.02 per 3 rushing yards x 174 =  $  2.90
 $  0.01 per 6 passing yards x 240 =  $  1.20
 $  1.00  per big (25 yd.) play x 2 =  $  2.00
 $  3.00 for a touchdown x 5 =  $15.00
 $  1.00 per quarter with no sacks x 3 =  $  3.00
 $  0.50 each rushing 1st down on 3rd or 4th x 1 =  $  0.50
 $  6.00 for each rushing touchdown by a runningback x 1 =  $  6.00
        TOTAL  $30.60

To the Defense, Louisiana's O-line had a lot of injuries and you
made them pay by picking 6 sacks on the day. Only had one
turnover compared to 4 by Louisiana so we lost the turnover
battle. Also, like Miami, we gave up a lot of passing yards with
UL picking up 398 yards through the air with their backup so
definitely an area to work on for Buffalo. On the good side, Gatling
and Dawson teamed up to get back-to-back sacks to force a
punt in the 4th quarter so it was good to see that the intensity was
there. For your efforts, we the donors award you with the following
donations.

   $  0.03 per tackle x 80 =  $  2.40
w/  $  0.08 bonus for every TFL yard  x 41 =  $  3.28
   $  1.20 per sack  x 6 =  $  7.20
   $  2.50 per turnover x 1 =  $  2.50
   $  1.25 per shutout quarter   x 1 =  $  1.25
   $  2.00 for each back-to-back sack x 1 =  $  2.00
          TOTAL  $18.63

On Special Teams, we didn't have any net punting yards because
there were no punts. This of course due to the fact that the Offense
either scored or turned the ball over on every possession only
allowing for one punt that Hershey once again collected a first
down on with a jump, helping Special Teams to once again pick
up a huge $75 donation from Bobcatbob. I gotta say here myself,
I wasn't sure if I would see it twice in a season let alone in the span
of 3 games. On kick returns, you showed your deep talent at running
back with big gainers by Donte (33 yards) and Dallas (34 yards) and
Ryan Clark stepped up and picked up 45 yards on 3 punt return attempts.
Still have to work on the extra points though apparently although we
still hit the once field goal we attempted. For your efforts, we award
you with the following donations.

   $  0.45 per extra point x 3 =  $  1.35
   $  1.40 per field goal   x 1 =  $  1.40
   $  0.06 per kick return yard x 105 =  $  6.30
   $  0.10 per punt return yard x 45 =  $  4.50
   $50.00 per fake kick resulting in a 1st down x 1 =  $50.00
w/  $25.00 bonus if it involves hurdling an opponent x 1 =  $25.00
          TOTAL  $88.55

Can anyone think of a reason that I should not add $47 to my total.

Noboday likes that I am, in addition to being the biggest optimist on the board, one of the top realists here, also.
But I put a small few of my dollars where my mouth is.

How 'bout all but about 10 other of the rest of you?!

Sorry I've passed over this post for the past few YEARS! I truly never clicked until today. I thought it was some kinda preseason prediction thread.

OK, here's my pledge: $25 for Temple game and I'll double for each win thereafter.

So, here's my pledge:
$25 = Temple victory
$50 = Kent victory
$100 = MAC Champ victory (I hope it's against the local (NIU squad)
$200 = Bowl Win (I hope over Northwestern for our 1st bowl victory in program history while it also continues Nortwestern winless streak in bowl games!

To the OHIO football team,

Great to once again get over 30 points for fifth game in a row and more
importantly to finish senior night with a win. But, from here on out the
competition will get much tougher so it is time to buckle down and
show the opposition that you are much more than a weaker schedule
would seemingly indicate.

To the Offense, one again another very balanced game through
the air and on the ground. Not many big plays, but the one that you
did have was very eventful with Boo making the touchdown catch
from Bates. Not as many big plays, but plenty of offense, and
once again Boo was fairly consistent with only one pick as was
the O-line with only allowing a sack on the game. For your efforts,
the donors award you with the following donations.

 $0.02  per 3 rushing yards                                            x 185 =  $3.08
 $0.01  per 6 passing yards                                          x 201 =  $1.01
 $1.00   per big (25 yd.) play                                               x 1 =  $1.00
 $3.00  for a touchdown                                                       x 5 =  $15.00
 $1.00  per quarter with no sacks                                      x 3 =  $3.00
 $0.50  each rushing 1st down on 3rd or 4th                   x 3 =  $1.50
 $6.00  for each rushing touchdown by a runningback x 1 =  $6.00
                                                                                          TOTAL =  $30.59

To the Defense, well you didn't register any hurries, but who needs
'em when you sack the quarterback 4 times for very big losses most
of the time of 6, 11, 14, 19 yards. Great to see you keep the sack stat
up too with 5 on Miami, 6 on Louisiana in your last two performances.
This is definitely something to try and keep up for Temple. After only
getting one turnover against Louisiana too, you upped it to three
against the Bulls. For your efforts, the donors award you with the
following donations.

  $0.03  per tackle                                 x 70 =  $2.10
w/  $0.08  bonus for every TFL yard  x 51 =  $4.08
  $1.20  per sack                                     x 4 =  $4.80
  $2.50  per turnover                               x 3 =  $7.50
  $1.25  per shutout quarter                   x 1 =  $1.25
                                                          TOTAL =  $19.73

To Special Teams, nothing too fancy this time around. Your return yards
were fairly respectable for punts and kicks and Hershey's 31 average on
three punts was a little below what we had become accustomed to. Also,
in something we have definitely got to get worked out, we had yet another
missed extra point. Hopefully we can work out this kink in time for our
match up with the Owls because if we win, it could likely come down to
a few points difference. For your efforts, we award you with the following
donations.

 $0.45  per extra point x 4            =  $1.80
 $0.06  per kick return yard x 40 =  $2.40
 $0.10  per punt return yard x 10 =  $1.00
 $0.02  per net punt yard       x 94 =  $1.88
                                             TOTAL =  $7.08

And here once again are your weekly totals...

Game 1 - Wofford

Game 9 - Louisiana Lafayette

3. Offense                  $30.60
Total:                           $162.78

Game 10 - Buffalo
1. Offense                $30.59
2. Defense               $19.73
3. Special Teams   $7.08
Total:                         $57.40

* = best to date
+ = 2nd best to date
- = 3rd best to date

Team Unit Totals:
1. Special Teams: $303.28
2. Offense:              $284.48
3. Defense:             $169.77 -- Cardiac Challenge bonus added to the Defensive total
                                                      for the stop to seal the win against the Cajuns
Team Unit Running Total: $757.53

The Offense has been very consistent, and start to close in on Special Teams
once again who might need another Hershey circus jump to win it this year...

To the OHIO football team,

Well, here we are again. Playing Temple for all the marbles
for the second season in a row. The Owls are back and
stronger than last year while we find them catching us at a
somewhat awkward timing. Not that you need any extra
motivation, but winning against Temple will not only put you
in the driver's seat for winning the MAC East, it will also pick
you up a win bonus of $270 in donations. And you can tack
on another $10 if you win by more than 21 points. (Hey, we
can all dream can't we? ;) )

I have been rather busy an unable to do the regular Team
totals posts like I have in previous years, but this longer
week has finally allowed me to catch up so lets run down
the weekly totals of donations earned by the Team so far...

Game 1 - Wofford                         $80.00
Game 2 - Toledo                             $0.00
Game 3 - Ohio State                      $0.00
Game 4 - Marshall                          $0.00
Game 5 - Eastern Michigan        $70.00
Game 6 - Bowling Green             $105.00
Game 7 - Akron                              $95.00
Game 8 - Miami                           $170.00
Game 9 - Louisiana Lafayette    $95.00
Game 10 - Buffalo                         $95.00
Current Team Total                      $710.00

Win against Temple and you would be one step
closer to earning $1000 in donations as a team...

GO 'CATS!!!

Temple win gets a chunk TBD from me.  And I will agitate in another thread outside of this one for others to come on here and put wallet where face is--peoples seem to love me even more than usual when I do that.

No longer silent on my agreement for the Cardiac Challenge for defensive play.  I think maybe the Bobcats owe me $25 for the near need for Cardiac Challenge to kick in last night.  Ok since I did get kind of riled up go ahead and apply the Cardiac Challenge of $25 to the Temple game too.

Good to hear bobcat2nc. I was hoping that fulfilled your pledge requirements.

And I guess since it was no one team unit in particular, I will award your second Cardiac Challenge to the team, which along with Monroe's increased pledge will easy put the team past $1000 in donations earned.

Man, that was a very impressive win. And I think the bobcats have no finally at long last put that all that speculation to rest. This is a very good football team and they made me even prouder to be bobcat Tuesday night.

EDIT --- And I really have to focus on the 'Challenge pledges more---

               Dan's Mom is also on board for the Cardiac Challenge pledge so that doubles the award amount.

Hello all,

What a convincing win and a huge win for the program.
This is something to build on so all that's left is to keep
up this level of play and get some revenge against Kent.
And when is the last time where we have been able to
possibly have the MAC East title in our hands before we
even step onto the field? What a great time to be a bobcat
fan.

Alright, here are our current totals. We broke $2000 in
donations and then some and it looks like we might still
have 3 games to go yet.

1 colobobcat66 $578.23
2 bobcat2nc $516.23
3 Dan's Mom $302.35
4 Monroe Slavin, CPA $242.00
5 Bobcatbob $210.73
6 bobcatgrad $187.01
7 Carolina Cat $131.00
8 Scott Woods $130.00
9 CeramicBobcat $96.12
10 Bobcat36 $66.69
11 OHIO1985 $25.00
Quantcast
Total to Date:
$2,485.36

Also, apologies go out to colobobcat66 and bobcat2nc. I must have
been really out of it when I did it, but somehow I put bobcat2nc's
homecoming cheerleader pushup category into colobobcat66's
chart and so it took me forever to notice because I barely look at
the individual donor pages unless I am changing pledges. But,
when colobobcat66's total went over $700 that finally clued me in.
Should be good to go now though.

To the OHIO football team,

Congratulations on picking up the big win!  You made
all the bobcat alums and fans very proud and strongly
answered all the speculation of the team strength after
playing a schedule as of late that might not have included
some of the stronger competition. But, all you can control
is how well you play each game and here you are with
7 straight wins with 6 straight wins of over 30 points.
You have really turned it around from the start of the season
so let's just keep this momentum going and win all of
the remaining games.

For the Offense, you executed Solich's game plan and got it
done on the ground and really showed that the running game
is now an official strength of this team. A real sign of improvement
from last season that was a work in progress as the season rolled
on. For your match-up with the Owls, you got over 200 yards on the
ground and earned $10 from colobobcat66 for Vince getting just one
hard enough by rushing for 100. Also, $18 in donations were picked
up from yours truly by getting 3 of your four touchdowns in on the
strong legs of a runningback. Catching the ball RS Donte Foster
registered a big play of 26 yards, and a tip of the hat goes out to the
offensive line for not allowing a sack this game. For your efforts, we
award you with the following donations.

 $  0.02 per 3 rushing yards x 204 =  $       3.40
 $  0.01 per 6 passing yards x 78 =  $       0.39
 $  1.00  per big (25 yd.) play x 3 =  $       3.00
 $  3.00 for a touchdown x 4 =  $     12.00
 $  1.00 per quarter with no sacks x 4 =  $       4.00
 $  0.50 each rushing 1st down on 3rd or 4th x 1 =  $       0.50
 $10.00 per 100 rushing yard player (more than one okay) x 1 =  $     10.00
 $  6.00 for each rushing touchdown by a runningback x 3 =  $     18.00
        TOTAL  $     51.29

To the Defense, there were a lot of yards that were gained in garbage
time after Vince had pretty much salted the game away with his 41 yard
scamper to make it 31-10, but over all you had a very solid game and
were able to limit Temple to 81 net rushing yards. No sacks, but you
picked up three turnovers which won the turnover battle for us. For your
efforts, we award you with the following donations.

   $  0.03 per tackle x 50 =  $       1.50
w/  $  0.08 bonus for every TFL yard  x 14 =  $       1.12
   $  2.50 per turnover x 3 =  $       7.50
   $  1.25 per shutout quarter   x 2 =  $       2.50
          TOTAL  $     12.62

To Special Teams, a pretty solid game overall. Last week I mentioned that
the team has been making a habit of missing extra points as of late and
this is a mistake you seem to have corrected against Temple that we can't
say the same for the Owls. Also, Hershey came back in a major way having
a great game with a 43.2 average punting and getting 4 ( ! ) punts inside
the average. Against a team like Temple punting was going to be very
important and here you definitely delivered. Nothing too special on punt
returns, but on kick returns, Donte Harden was responsible for all of the
55 yards returned including a long of 30 yards that was very enterntaining
to watch on the ol' highlight reel. For your efforts, we award you with the
following donations.

 $  0.45 per extra point x 4 =  $       1.80
 $  1.40 per field goal   x 1 =  $       1.40
 $  0.80 per punt inside the 20   x 4 =  $       3.20
 $  0.06 per kick return yard x 55 =  $       3.30
 $  0.10 per punt return yard x 9 =  $       0.90
 $  0.02 per net punt yard x 216 =  $       4.32
        TOTAL  $     14.92

And here are your weekly totals. Looks like I will be doing calculations Stateside
once again this year...

* = best to date

                                                      for the stop to seal the win against the Cajuns c/o Dan's Mom.
Team Unit Running Total: $861.36

The Offense is proving to be the team unit to beat this year like the Defense
was last year. They have usurped Special Teams for the top spot once again...

Also, at this rate, you will definitely be able to earn $1000 between all of the 3 team units.

To the OHIO football team,

Well we raised the stakes and you definitely responded to our
expectations and boosted your total over $1000 in team-earned
donations by inspiring the 'Challenge donors. Monroe Slavin
raised his win bonus pledge to $50 to $100 which raised the
donations earned for winning to $320

Also this week you can add another $25 on to your total from
bobcat2nc for the Cardiac Challenge category that has a matching
pledge from Dan's Mom for a total of $50 in extra donations.

For a victory against Kent State, right now a total of $145 of
donations is on the line if you finish the regular season with a
victory and completely secure a return trip to Detroit. If you
beat Kent State by more than 21 points, colobobcat66 will
award you an additional $10 for a total of $155 for the win.

Now, let's take a look at your current total.

Game 1 - Wofford                         $80.00
Game 2 - Toledo                             $0.00
Game 3 - Ohio State                      $0.00
Game 4 - Marshall                          $0.00
Game 5 - Eastern Michigan        $70.00
Game 6 - Bowling Green             $105.00
Game 7 - Akron                              $95.00
Game 8 - Miami                           $170.00
Game 9 - Louisiana Lafayette    $95.00
Game 10 - Buffalo                         $95.00
Game 11 - Temple
- win bonus                                    $320.00
- "Cardiac Challenge"
   awarded to the team                   $50.00
    Total:                                            $370.00

Current Team Total                      $1080.00

Without making the mistake of looking ahead and looking at
the big win bonuses on the line for the winning the MAC
Championship or the bowl game, all that matters right now
as Kent so I am not going to mention those.

However, we have other categories unrelated to these win bonuses
that are starting to become relevant or that might be won in the nearby
future including one that could be won without the team lifting a finger.
All of these categories are listed on the 2nd post of this thread.

$10 for 10 wins                                                       (bobcatgrad)

Not a big donation, but securing a historic two additional wins
and it is earned.

$100 for a Top 25 appearance                            (Bobcatbob)

I wasn't sure if this one was possible or not so left it up just
in case, but after your recent performance against Temple,
this might just be possible if you win out and play a respected
enough of a opponent in a bowl game.

$100 for MAC East Division title                             (Bobcatbob)

This one also from Bobcatbob is especially interesting because
the team could "earn" this bonus just by having Temple beat Miami.
So that's $100 more in donations if Temple wins their next game
or if Miami wins and you defeat Kent State.

Time to finish strong.

GO 'CATS!!!

Well, that was probably the most unexpected result that possibly could have happened. Looks like no one is going to do it for us and maybe it is better that way. So how about $245 for beating the Flashes to win the MAC East?
