In a group of 110 male athletes, there is going to be someone that gets into trouble now and then. Focusing solely on the few that do get into trouble causes people to forget the 100+ that do pass their courses, and do avoid conflict with the law. The numbers will be smaller for sports like basketball, not so much because the athletes are better behaved, but because there are less of them. When you have something like this, you boot him off the team, and move on. It's a shame that someone with his apparent ability squanders his chance, but it happens.
In the meantime, there are enough people that hopefully someone will step up and play. I have no idea if it will be an existing DE, a new recruit, or perhaps someone converting from TE or MLB. At this point, I'll just remain confident that the coaching staff has a plan, and not get too concerned. A year ago suppose someone told you that the Bobcats would lose Brazill, Moore, and Keller? Most would not have projected as good a season as the Bobcats had, I think. Well, however good Kozak may have been, he's gone, and other players will have to step up.
