The name I'm curious about is 58 Jamaal Tarrent.  I thought that he was sposed to have been a pretty plum recruit last year but have seen little comment about his prospects.  A redshirt last year.  Anyone know?

Let's be honest baby, just win!, as a life long Indians and Browns fan, I am ready for a winner!
As a Cub fan, I'm with you!

As a former Yankees fan who hasn't given a sh*t about MLB since the '94 strike but who's been a Bobcat fan since 1970 and hasn't yet seen the Cats win the MAC football crown, I'm ready for a winner, too.

Really isn't a 'bright side' to this one, but at least this occurred prior to the Aug practices so coaching staff has some time to see what we've got. No excuses at all for any male putting their hands on a female and using force. Nice touch having the bag of pot on him.

As far as I know, he redshirted. There wasn't much opportunity or need for any true freshmen to play on the D-line last year. I have to imagine he has a good chance of starting if he is as good as he was rated by some of the recruiting services. Definitely going to be some inexperienced players getting major playing time on the D-line.

Tarrent was also dinged up through spring practice. He didn't play in the spring game. Very much looking forward to seeing what he brings to the table.

When you look over the in coming class by position there are about 10-11 OL & DL recruits, We seemed to be making a major investment in these 2 positions, all good as it all starts on the line of scrimmage.

Absolutely, 71.

Give me a team that can bring qb heat from it's front four and I'll show you a ranked team.

Well, doesn't that kind of depend on the situation?  If she's coming at your with a dagger, you may just lay a hand on her and try to flip her over on her back side and step on her hand to dislodge the dagger.   No, this is not what happened here, and our former football player got exactly what he deserved.  I just object to these overly wrought PC statements that make gross generalities based on truly sexist ideas.

Also, from the "say it ain't so" department...Jay Edwards will not play in the fall due to academics. Hopefully he can work to get it in gear, but very disappointing for a truly nice guy.

Come on, guys, keep it together! We won't have a defense at this rate!!

Its good then with the losses that our first game is at New Mexico State! Then a game against Big South darling Gardner Webb. That allows the team to tune up before the Marshall and Rutgers games, both of which are going to be difficult to get the win. Granted the games have been close against Marshall but Ohio is 1-9 against the Herd since their return to FBS in 1997. Granted the last 3 games have been close and this one is Athens but the game is far from a layup based on recent history. The opening MAC game against Kent State is not going to be easy with the Cats having a 4-6 record against KSU over the last decade. Games 3 through 5 is the difficult part of the schedule and from there the schedule is going to soften up.
