Well, BG86, I see your "Lee" and raise you one "Sherman."  This is from Sherman Park in Lancaster, Ohio.  The gentleman next to Uncle Billy is my friend Frank Scaturro, who is running for the GOP nomination for Congress in NY-4.  He is a noted scholar on the U. S. Grant, and has written a book on the Grant presidency called "Grant Reconsidered."

That's too bad Carl, that he's running on the Got Only Promises ticket.  Instead of hanging out with dead generals, perhaps he should associate with real life folks from the Empire State if he wants to solve the country's problems.

I'd be surprised if there are legitimately more than 8,000 people there. Thanksgiving week, rain, and already having clinched the East Division are all working against us. The best possible scenario is like what we had for Temple in 2009, which was (as I recall) a cold day with flurries throughout the game. There were maybe 10,000 in the house for the de-facto MAC East title game.

High winds and an 80% chance of thunderstorms.  Very very few students are left in town Tuesday evening of finals week.  No more than 10,000 during the first half, no more than 4,000 at the end of the game.

But I'll be there.  And as someone else said, at least this is the last time we will ever have to deal with this with semesters coming in.

Residence halls close at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, so that essentially knocks out half of the undergrad student body.  Any upperclassman that doesn't have a Monday or Tuesday final is probably already gone.

I have recruited 8 people that otherwise don't go to football games.  I wasn't an easy sell, but the 8-3 record helped.  I guess I have done my fair share.

Splendid!  How much interest did the folks you recruited have at the beginning of the year, 4-5 games ago, now?  (I presume that you're talking about current students ??)  Is the pride building?

This is beyond ridiculous. Leave the halls open until the next morning to accommodate those students who wish to stay. If we want to move in the right direction, we can't be de-incentivizing students to go to our games.

That's a great question Monroe.  My guess is that many students who will be at home Tuesday night will either tune in there are be somewhere with friends where they will tune in to the game.  The number doing this will be far greater than in past years.  So yes, I'd say the pride is building.  The number of butts in the seats on a given night isn't the only measure of the number of fans a school has.

I have heard that area elementary and middle school students have been given tickets to the game and will be seated on the student side.  This was a good marketing idea and will help the TV view angle (sorry, Al, but I could not bring myself to use the A-News term "viewscape").  Now if those thunderstorms happen in the early AM Wednesday, it would be great.

Does anyone know if there is a way to donate existing tickets? Maybe it doesn't matter - it will certainly be a choose your own seat kinda day, but it was a hard realization that I just couldn't make this work tomorrow and would like to see my seats put to good use.

Hey BG86, I used to live on the 1600 block of Monument Ave. Nice Statue or 2 on that avenue.

This was very irresponsible of the athletic department. Children that young should not be exposed to the violence that the Bobcats are going to unleash on the Red ChickenSkins.

Al, I don't want to send this thread to Siberia, but I'll just say it would be nice if you knew what you were talking about in these matters.  You might want to first check out Mr. Scaturro's campaign web site and see where he stands on the issues before making a blanket statement based on your stereotypes.  (Frank came to Athens in October to speak to the Charles H. Grosvenor Civil War Roundtable on "Grant: Man and Monument."   He was a guest in our house, and this photo was taken when we stopped in Lancaster after I picked him up at CMH.)

This proves why we need a thread for non-OU, non-sports stuff.....   I suggest calling it the Non-Fest forum, in honor of all the fests that OHIO has in the spring.

Well, you'll notice this just started with BG86 and I poking each other with a little good-natured fun about bashing rebels, based on Ole Miss' recent poor performance against LSU.  Al, of course, took  it to the "next level" as he is want to do.

I can use them.

And keeping the dorms open for the sole purpose of 50 or so underclassmen going to the game seems unwise.

I reeeeeeally want to go to this game.

However, I'm not feeling the best and I'm sure my visiting girlfriend wouldn't want to suffer through three hours of freezing rain. I may be relegated to watching uptown, and I actually feel a bit guilty for that.

They're yours - but how can I get them to you? Is there an electronic exchange? can I designate copies at will call?

This is only for members of the football team and the marching band.

EDIT:  But whoops, you already know that ;)

I did Carl and while I hoped to see something new, it's the same tired old drivel from that side of the aisle.  Too bad that a guy that young has already consumed the cool aid.

DA, in previous posts I said that the campus is falling apart and got hammered for it.  I guess this proves that point.  The Dispatch ran a front page article on this too.  Too much deferred maintenance is coming back to bite us big time.
