DA, in previous posts I said that the campus is falling apart and got hammered for it.  I guess this proves that point.  The Dispatch ran a front page article on this too.  Too much deferred maintenance is coming back to bite us big time.

I think saying you got "hammered" for it is a bit much. I can't speak for anyone else but my only argument regarding your statements were that they were simply overstated. We've all known that there was a problem with deferred maintenance but it is one that is shared by many other universities. The fact remains that we have a beautiful campus that has seen many useful additions in the past 5 years or so.

I fully support the increased spending in this new capital plan.

I should say that when I was on campus this summer, the dorms on west green looked in need of some serious restoration. They were pretty run-down.

Not sure what this has to do with attendance on Tuesday...but I'm too lazy to go back through the thread.

Does anyone know if there is a way to donate existing tickets? Maybe it doesn't matter - it will certainly be a choose your own seat kinda day, but it was a hard realization that I just couldn't make this work tomorrow and would like to see my seats put to good use.

I can use them.

And keeping the dorms open for the sole purpose of 50 or so underclassmen going to the game seems unwise.

They're yours - but how can I get them to you? Is there an electronic exchange? can I designate copies at will call?

I don't know; I'll have to call the ticket office in the morning.

Al, I don't want to send this thread to Siberia, but I'll just say it would be nice if you knew what you were talking about in these matters.  You might want to first check out Mr. Scaturro's campaign web site and see where he stands on the issues before making a blanket statement based on your stereotypes.  (Frank came to Athens in October to speak to the Charles H. Grosvenor Civil War Roundtable on "Grant: Man and Monument."   He was a guest in our house, and this photo was taken when we stopped in Lancaster after I picked him up at CMH.)

I did Carl and while I hoped to see something new, it's the same tired old drivel from that side of the aisle.  Too bad that a guy that young has already consumed the cool aid.

I disagree, Al, but I'm not going to continue to argue the point because I want to get this thread back to its originally intended purpose.

I have two tickets in the Phillips section on the 50 yard line that are free to a good Bobcat home.  These are not my personal tickets but the tickets of the couple who usually sits next to us, but who are in Singapore this quarter.  Any takers?

Sounds like Ohio University is returning to its roots as only a nominally state-supported institution.  Is this what they mean by the new concept of a "charter university"?
