I could use a " fact-checker " I overhead the team bussed to Dekalb. That approximately 8ish hour ride. If they did, that is uncalled for. There is no reason we shouldn't be flying to that one?
Flew to San Diego and Florida. If the bus rumor is true, maybe that was why.
We usually crap at one game a year that we should win. This wasn't it. NIU is a good team and was hungry for a home win at homecoming. What's concerning about this game is (1) no second-half points and (2) unable to use the wind advantage. Just a first quarter FG with the wind. The only time we went deep with the wind we were intercepted. Without Jones we don't have a consistent deep threat. And the running game isn't dominant as it's been in the past. This has to change, quickly.
NIU's 23 pts were the most given up by Ohio so far this season. There might be only two or three games left on the schedule against teams that could top that. MOFO,CMU, maybe WMU. Problem is, Ohio has scored more than 23 only three times this year. The offense needs to start producing.
We can still win the division but just about need to win out. We still have three home games in the next five plus Buffalo (lost at home vs BG) and Akron on the road. We can afford maybe one more stumble, preferably against the West, but that's all. The next three games at least are must-wins.
