I think we will put the wood to these boys. Too far out to see if the forecast holds but 30% chance right now for most of the weekend. With this much time to prepare, I like our chances given they cannot run the football.

Per Arkley's Twitter, Scott out for Miami and Hughes out for the season. G. Moore a game-time decision.

Solich just declared Scott out and said Moore is a game time decision. How badly are these guys hurt as it feels like every injury is taking so many extra weeks to heal?

Also, Xavier Hughes can be added to the list of season ending injuries as he is having shoulder surgery.

Myself +5 or 6 will be going to the game this weekend.  Does anybody know any good restaurants/bars to eat at before the game?

redhawk is going to be up for this game--two weeks off to prepare, rivalry, home game, makes their season to beat us since we're ranked, they need the W to keep hope of going to a bowl game alive, they haven't beaten us for years.

We need to pack the place with fans of O H I O.

Miami hasn't beaten either rival for years.  Dysert is 0-7 vs. UC and OU.  He wants this game badly.  This isn't an easy win at all.

I would seem our week off is netting us nearly zero in "getting healthy." Is that right?

Guys like Fisher, Wells, Bass, and Ingol are no longer inexperienced backups. They are battle-tested veterans now. I expect solid play from them down the stretch.

Per Arkley twitter, Solich agrees. With 7 games now, youth is no longer an excuse. It's time for these guys to step up and play.

As per Scott, I remember he was to be out for 4-6 weeks, so it is running on that schedule. For Moore, with a sprain it's tough to know just how long it will take to heal. If he's not 100%, better to give him another week because he will be needed down the stretch.

I think we're going to see a very re-energized Bobcat team against Miami. I'm looking for a return to early season form.

A certain MLB anb a certain DT back to 100% would be huge. Also having a certain reserve OT back would be a plus. Not really zero. Neal H and Moore 100% will be huge against Miami.

Completely agree...I'm really excited to see what the guys are able to do in this one!

I served an 18-month sentence living in Oxford. It helps explain my sincere hatred of Fiami. I’m only going off my memory, but it’s slim pickings. I last lived there in 1999, so your experience may vary, and some places may be better, worse, new or closed. One of the only non-Greek/student bars there was the Circle: http://www.steinkellercircle.com/circle-bar-oxford-ohio.html. I liked it there, which is saying a lot for the place since I didn’t like much about Oxford. Note that it is quite tricky to find. Look for the unlabeled green door in the alley (instructions on website). No, I'm not joking. My apologies if you go and it sucks like everything else in Oxford; I haven't been back in a decade and don't plan on returning.

The food options are pretty much what you’d expect from a college town. Lots of bar food, pizza, chains and a handful of decent ethnic options.

It's not a sit down but you honestly can't beat the Bagel & Deli...Just REALLY good...It may be Oxford's only redeeming quality...

We opened at -9 but it has already fallen to -71/2.

That sounds about right, though I think Ohio will win by a bit more, perhaps 2 TDs. Ohio will be favored again against EMU, but the last three games I would be surprised if Ohio isn't the underdog in at least 1-2 of them.

I dunno...I smell one of those 41-37 games and i hate to tell ya, i'm hard pressed to say which team will score 41.  If we don't turn the ball over, maybe we'll be OK...

They are jacked, and so are we - I think you could be right on. TO's could be KEY (at least we have the edge their it looks). I also hope Solich has the "Dagger" handy, and not afraid to pull it out, whenever the opportunity arises (even if we get the ball deep in OUr territory w/even 10 seconds left in the 1st half - even if we are up by 20 - GO FOR IT - STICK THE DAGGER IN!)

Stella 12 was pretty good last time I was there couple years ago. Down the road a bit Stefano's in Middletown is good.

Last bar I was in there was "The Boar's Head" - circa 1977

Miami's "Pump Up" video...

I actually thought this was a joke once the music came on...then I realized it wasn't.

It is only Tuesday and I am already terrified.  I love being undefeated and the favorite every week...but it sure makes games more nervewrecking.  Don't want this run to ever end, but especially in Oxfart.

Important question... When was the last time that Miami defeated us? I thought we used to have a running counter of Days Since a Miami Victory somewhere...

You know, every team we've faced that's been jacked this year ran on emotion for about a quarter, then fizzled and it came down to talent.   Penn St; Terd; Akron; maybe even UMass and Buffalo.  Solich gets our guys pumped -- they were up there for homecoming -- but he knows how to keep a lid on it and to prepare his team to take that first punch.  I think right now we have the better talent and the better control of our emotions.  This will come down (as so many games do) to line play.  We protect T2 much better than they protect Dysert; we've allowed 5 sacks, they've allowed 23.  They don't pressure the QB as well; we have 14 sacks, they have 6.  Our ground game is about triple theirs on offense (249 ypg to 89) and twice as good on defense (134 ypg to 243).  We're pretty even on passing offense (230 to 285) and passing defense (259 to 256).  If we control the line of scrimmage, we win.

Huh?  Did you watch any of those games?  The only team that fizzled -- ironically the only team that we feared could beat us just on talent alone -- was Penn State.  We were fighting for our lives in the 4th quarter of all of those games.  If we don't put teams away, eventually a bounce is going to go wrong and we're going to get burned.

When's the last time our offense was really humming?  Aren't we due for a 45-point 90-play performance?  It's about time.  Run these guys over at full speed for 60 minutes.

I think it is way better to be cautiously optimistic with our success.

But let's just remember the following:
Akron was 34-14 until the 4th quarter when some of our 3rd stringers were in because our 2nd stringers were filling in for the 1st stringers.

UB should have been a 38-24 final had we not given up the last TD with 8 seconds to go and the roughing the passer penalty that gave them.

I still think UMass is much better than their record, and it will take time for them to get their feet. We should have blown them out, no doubt, but a W is a W.

Would those scores have given us more credit with the haters that keep saying we are not a top 25 team?
