McQueen went through practice today, getting him back would be huge

Well, he's huge, anyway.

Seriously, depth on the offensive line wasn't a concern early in the year, but it is starting to become one. With Smith redshirting, McQueen out, Johnson out, and Lucas suspended,  behind Prior, Carlotta, and Herman, the backups, as I understand it, are Lechner, Lechner, and Lechner, with Bales and Powell behind Allen, and Dietz behind McGrath.

My short list of players I'd like to have back are Gerald Moore and Tremayne Scott. I'd also like some guys to be back to 100% that have been playing, but I don't think have been completely healthy, namely Fisher, Wells, Kristoff, Ingol, Keith Moore, and Carl Jones.

A bit off topic, but it's official now that the Marching 110 will be in Oxford for this one.

Wow, on many levels. I think it's a great move as I think the conference should require both bands be at rivalry games but I can't believe Miami agreed to it. Any idea where they'll sit?

when is the last time the110 traveled to Oxford?  They were banned in the late 1970s, no?

Awesome - I just posted on the travel thread that the Fiami ticket office said that today but was first I had heard - now there's fire to that smoke!

From what they told me the band will be in mid to lower part of Section 1. GET YOUR TICKETS FOR SECTION 1 FAST! Section 2 is sold out (and rest of sections almost over to the very end of the main stands).

I just read that the redhawk band will not be at the game!

Oh.  Sorry.  I meant that they'll be there and no one will care.

Winner. Last time I went to Oxford I sat in the front row, because nobody else was.

I heard they actually had a plan to fill it this year......only way to do that was to freeze it over and play an outdoor hockey game.

Or have a fraternity/sorority bash there.  Naw, it would get too trashed.

redhawk is going to be up for this game--two weeks off to prepare, rivalry, home game, makes their season to beat us since we're ranked, they need the W to keep hope of going to a bowl game alive, they haven't beaten us for years.

We need to pack the place with fans of O H I O.

I hate to be a wet blanket but this game has me worried.  The foreskins would like nothing more than to spoil our season and looking at how the Huskies and Falcons manhandled "Kron and UMASS I'm beginning to have my doubts about this team.

Can somebody please talk me down off the ledge?

3 phrases:

running game,

sacks and

EYEPATCH

Bobcats control the ball, we put the Zac on his back and take care of  business by being tougher than Skin.  The Boys will be ready and like Penn State and Marshall, the Skin might throw a few good punches early but the pounding the Skin will take will make them quickly forget about any early success they may achieve.  The string lives on for another year!

The eyepatch was getting heavy, but after a week off, I expect the Bobcats to come back refreshed, and ready to wear it the rest of the way. With 3 games in 11 days, this is going to be an intense period.

I will be interested to see who is practicing this week.  Getting a healthy (or somewhat healthy) Scott and Moore back would be helpful.  Plus, two weeks rest for a few banged up Bobcats (Foster, TT) greatly improves our situation.

I think we'll have the same gameplan as we had against Penn State.  Let Dysert get the short stuff early, don't get beat deep.  In a war of attrition, the lack of a running game will kill them if we get a sack or two.  On offense, go for ball control and keep their offense off the game.  Our running game will be the key to this game.  Let Tettleton work with 3rd and short all day and he'll have a field day.

But the bottom line is to get pressure on Dysert and the receivers.  I honestly don't think he'll be holding on to the ball for longer than a couple seconds on a majority of his throws, so we need to pop the receivers at every possible second.  Make them worry about blowing snot bubbles and make Dysert worry about the timing.  He may take off before his guys are in position or hold on to the ball longer.  Knock them off their routes at the snap and stay at home in the zone.  Nothing fancy.  Play physical, play smart and we win this game.

Guys like Fisher, Wells, Bass, and Ingol are no longer inexperienced backups. They are battle-tested veterans now. I expect solid play from them down the stretch.

With 2 weeks to prepare I put my money on Frank and his game plan.
Our boys are understanding of our ranking and they are challenging themselves to prove worthy of receiving such accolades.
Arkley has started to make mention of injured players healing and 3-4 are probably back for this week already. I look for a few additional to return by Sat.
I do find the spread closer than expected.
