Regardless of the bowl, it would be nice to see the athletic department
open up their wallets and send the entire 110.

So how much is it going to cost to send each band member? Of course we don’t know yet, but when we do know, I’m willing to finance a few, how about you? Let’s get that done and do it quickly. Let’s put some light pressure on getting it done! I think I’ll start another thread.

Just curious, you'd rather spend cash on keeping band members happy than players at OHIO with your money through donations? No wonder we struggle with NIL money. Yes, this is the new world of college athletics.

Ugh, you can do both. I also think that the 110 may be more popular than the team with some people that don’t support athletics.

No doubt. But would these 110 fans travel to a bowl game just to watch the band?

The Band hasn't lost any Tuba players to NIL, they have kickers and DL.

79 teams reached eligibility. James Madison and Jacksonville State will get a bowl berth along with one 5 win team based on APR to make 82. That 5 win team will be Minnesota.

It might still be possible for Navy to go to a bowl. They're 5-6 and a win over Army would make them eligible. (Army played two teams from the other subdivision -- Delaware St and Holy Cross -- so they need seven wins but at 5-6 they can't become eligible.) The general rule is that Army and Navy have to become eligible before the conference championships but a few years ago when there weren't enough teams to fill all the slots a slot in a later bowl was held open in case the Army-Navy winner became eligible. A five-win team was designated as an alternate. I think a special request had to be made by one of the teams.

Always felt nfl is missing an opportunity to have an nfl draft for band members. Only the ravens have a band think would add to the atmosphere if all teams did and would be a pretty interesting thing to draft for. The 110 are often better than the students at supporting the team. If you cut the big contracts these players are making and pay like 80k per band member think would be fun and feasible.

As far as some of these games go, I wouldn't mind being paired vs Minnesota. A lot to like about that match-up.
-Not Alabama
-Not Boise
-Big 10
-PJ Fleck
-Detroit would be more a possibility (though if I had to guess, Toledo will be there vs one of the fringe P5's... Duke, Maryland... someone like that)

And now over on the MAC Discussion board the word is "Word over on the Bobcat Board is that OU are going to Myrtle Beach!" LOL

As a Bowl snob, that is one off the board I cannot travel to. Just need someone else to be announced in the Detroit based bowl. Get us further South.

I also feel it is my obligation to say I 100% favor the green block "O" lid. Not the book store version Albin wears. Fitted 8 seam six panel black with green O (outlined in white trim).

A winnable game against a 6-6 Georgia Southern squad that has lost four straight. Would be nice to finish this off for back-to-back 10 win seasons.
