I'll take the cosmetic value of another 10-win season. But man... an 11 a.m. game on the first day of bowl season? Against maybe the fifth-best football team in the state of Georgia? Hard to get excited.

(Personally, I was also hoping for a game between Xmas and New Year's so I could travel to it. This destination is nice for those who can go, but I can't.)

Unless I read the calendar wrong, that's the same date and time as fall semester commencement. Game at 11, graduation at 2. Looks like the prez is in a it of pickle. :)

Georgia Southern??? Really??? What a crappy matchup for a bowl game! They finished dead last in their division, haven’t won a game since October, lost 4 straight games coming into this game, and are .500 on the year. What a joke. Ohio is going to smear these guys. Talk about the thud of bowl excitement.

probably the 4th best team in georgia vs probably the 4th best team in Ohio. it goes both ways.

what they are better at is selling tickets.

Georgia Southern beat Ball State 40-3 to end nonconference play after a 35-14 loss to Wisconsin, and then beat Coastal Carolina. Not sure if something happened that they became less competitive toward the end of the season.

Has anyone found any information on the Myrtle Beach Bowl payout? It's the only one they didn't announce last season or this season.

Silver lining... 1st bowl of the season, maybe some sort of little bump there? Kick-off bowl season at 11am on Saturday vs an opponent they should smash. Move to 10 wins and hopefully ride that wave into an early recruiting season.

Could be worse. Could be ODU vs WKU at 2pm on Monday the 18th.

Quick Lane has a $2M payout in Detroit. Obviously, I've been pushing for that one since about October.
-BG getting a lot of love for that final push this season.

68 Ventures Bowl in Alabama has a $1.5M payout.
-Eastern Michigan vs South Alabama.

Toledo off to the Barstool Bowl vs Wyoming.

Miami heading to the Cure Bowl in Orlando. 330 PM on Dec 16. Not exactly getting a of love for that MACC victory.

Certainly would have been better for conf bowl top pairing if Toledo had won the championship.

consider payout with limited value. bowl payouts are shared within the conference. a team paying in a higher paying bowl doesn’t walk away with more money.

This was the original time slot of the Bahamas Bowl before it was moved.

It's hard to put down a Sun Belt team, since the conference had 12 bowl-eligible teams this season, although most were 6-6. They have a QB who threw for 3400 yds but had more sacks (26) than passing TDs (22). What they have is a RD (Jason White) who could be pro prospect. He ran for almost 900 yds this season and had four 100-yd games, as many as Bangura had. They scored just over 30 pts a game but gave up almost 30.

It'll probably be a tough game. Last year we had a 7-5 Wyoming team, without Rourke, and battled to an OT win. This year we have Rourke, but the offense has been mostly stagnant.

All payouts are shared.

Looking at other payouts. I am guessing less than 250k for Myrtle Beach.

I hear everyone. I have been wanting to see the ocean for a couple years. This game could be a good opportunity to watch /support those Cats. If I recall, it's pretty reasonably priced for lodging and food this time of year. I think going to this game is more manageable to attend than going to Arizona or Idaho etc.

I wouldn't be assuming this will be easy. They played in a tougher league. We struggled to beat Akron. I'm expecting a tough game from Georgia Southern.

According to Sagarin, Ohio is a four point favorite on a neutral field. So not seeing how this shapes up as easy.

Will be tough, even tougher taking into account portal jumpers and potential bowl sitters between now and then.

They beat Ball State 40-3.

Their offense is pretty powerful. Davis Brin their QB came from Tulsa and has 9K+ career passing yards, 60 TD. They're gonna score and we're gonna need to keep up with them.

14th in passing yards per game. (OU is 87th)
18th in passing yards. (87th)
41st in total yards per game. (97th)
45th in scoring. (100th)

I know were not that excited about this bowl matchup, but it is still Ohio and it's still an excuse to go to the beach. Is there any way to talk to others attending the bowl game? This is the first away game I'm traveling to.

Usually there is a travel thread for road games. And there is always a game thread.

He'll probably have a heart attack seeing we're ranked 27th out of 41.
