Let me go on record as saying that I don't think Butch Jones will do well at Tennessee.  If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone here will remind me and I'll be obliged to eat some crow.

Yes, that joke was definitely a hanging curve that needed to be hit. I'm glad someone was braver than me and took a swing.

He has been a  paragon of mediocrity.  I checked Phil Steele's annual guide.  Holtz's aggregate record at UConn, EC and USF is something like 54-49.  At USF he started at 8-5, slipped to 5-7 and then 3-9.  I'm surprised that LA Tech went for him.

Judging the way the LA Tech AD handled their Bowl situation, he might not be the sharpest knife in the drawer. Speaking oh which, the WMU AD was the first to pull the trigger and could be he last to get a coach.

Was this an honorable man who actually waited until his team's bowl game to accept another job?

I'd have a problem with it if they had lost, but since they won, it's ok with me.  Of course, if they'd lost, maybe he wouldn't have gotten the job.

The Wisconsin hire is an interesting one and one that could prove a difficult transition as at 1st glance that is a great contrast in styles, and adapting in the early years to the talent base at Wisconsin could be interesting.

11/30/12- Anderson quoted in statement, says he's not leaving Utah State.
12/18/12- Anderson leaves Utah State.

honorable is a relative term.

Of course the Wisconsin job hadn't opened up yet when he said he wasn't leaving.
