I liked this tweet from Arkley:

Jason Arkley @JasonAmessenger

Tautuiaki (with Cleon Aloese) had Ohio looking like the New Zealand All Blacks (rugby reference). Players were in to it

BR says L'ville has high bust potential.  Any story that has "bust" in the headline catches my eye.

Had an opportunity to lift a pint in a pub in Ponsonby in 1988 with these guys and then again with their '"Tall Blacks" Basketball team when they were in Indy. Very Interesting evenings I will NEVER forget.

For those who have never seen the Haka...it is a pre game ceremony the NZ squads perform as a pre game ritual based in their Maori heritage. Unlike Americans who have seperated ourselves from our native origins the Kiwis have integrated Maori culture into daily life and embrace it irregardless of where their ancestors immigrated from. Excellent if we have OUr guys bonding and coming together as these teams do..... My experience with the All Blacks was one of wonder and amazement. I consider it among the higher points in my life. A privilege.

I sometimes peruse the other teams forum before a game just to see what they're saying about us.  In this case they have more than one.  Looks like we are getting some respect from at least one of their forums.  I like how they say we will beat UK next year....of course they might hate the Wildcats just a tad...haha:

Watching the Reds-Cards game on ESPN right now and saw Ohio-Louisville go across the crawl.

It's on....

To the injuries add Mark Smith, who is out a 3-4 weeks with a hand injury, per Arkley's blog.

After his opening remarks, where he was very respectful of the Ohio program, Strong didn't have a lot to say about Ohio, and the Louisville media didn't have much interest in talking about Ohio. He was asked 2 questions about Ohio, one at 7:30, and one at 25:30, and to both Strong gave quick answers. Basically he said that Ohio has sound schemes, and good size on the offensive line, and gets yards, and that Blankenship isn't tall but is tough and runs mostly between the tackles, and TT isn't a power runner. He also mentioned that Ohio has one receiver with good size (I'm not sure who he's talking about), which was his only reference to Ohio's passing game.  Other than those quick comments, this conference was all about how this is a better Louisville team than a year ago, and all the things they are doing to try to continue to make progress, and on the status of specific Louisville players, etc.

Hopefully the Louisville press will have more questions about how good Ohio really is after the game than they do now.

reminds me of this scene from Relentless last year with BB and TT watching and ESPN and Lou Holtz dismisses Ohio's chances of beating Penn State and they just give each other that look. That's what I think of when I hear all this hype talk about Lville while Ohio is left as an after thought.

This along with the fact that he says that all of their running backs will see the field during the game makes me wonder just how much respect they do have for us?

He was very dismissive of Ohio's defensive line, at 25:50. After saying that Ohio's offensive line had good size, and was comparable, he said "defensively, that's where you see the difference, in the defensive line, when you look at them on defense".

Interestingly, yes, I do expect to see a difference at defensive line this year. I think that as the year goes on, this is going to become one of the best defensive lines we have seen at Ohio. It's early yet, though. Can they make a difference against Louisville?  Strong seems to think that a weak Ohio defensive line is going to be the difference in this game. Can they prove him wrong, and make a difference in the other direction?

I think if Crutcher has a good game that Strong will change his tune.

To me the key to OUr line and maybe even the game will be the defensive ends.  If guys like Kendric Smith and Branz are neutralized then it could be a long day.  DE's like Basham and Laseak may have to play early and be somewhat effective....if all 4 or 5 DE's in the rotation get squashed then we could be in trouble.

I think that quote should be found on all their lockers this week.

Getting pumped. Like, it needs to be Sunday NOW. That Strong interview was what I needed. Arkley had a video the other day of Teddy Heisman talking about prepping for us by playing video games. They're not thinking much about us at all. Good. I picked us to lose. I'm rethinking that right now.

D Line needs to make a statement Sunday. This team needs to be known for its DEFENSE. The O will take care of itself.

Defense wins championships. I want a MAC championship.

I hope the team hears of Mr. Bridgewater's preparation.  Didn't anyone learn from Coach O'Brien's comments last year.  This team doesn't need gift wrapped motivation.

Then go on to 7:40 of the video and listen to Travis Carrie's mesmerizing talk about prepping for and playing in big games, ending with "Dream about making plays."  It's soooo great to still have him on the team.

I have faith that the video has been seen already by the team and I agree with you. With Ohio's blue collar work ethic, this adds more intensity to the fire. If I'm a Louisville fan, I'd be nervous....

My seats are in 202. From pictures I have seen from past games at Louisville, this seating chart seems accurate with regards to where away fans are in the stadium...
that us the least symetrical stadium I have ever seen, it looks like a mad architect designed it.

Not really.  That was a bad  seating chart posted above.  Here is a game day view.  The blue in the left corner is the visiting section.

Another view showing the visitor section (first two sections of lower bowl and 4 sections of the upper deck if needed.....most visitors don't use that many):

I am expecting a pretty good Ohio crowd. Also, it is my understanding the band will be there in section 202.
