Seahawks release Bates once again, this time only a few days after signing him off of the practice squad and onto 53 man roster. Would think that if nobody claims him, he will be back on Seahawks practice squad within next few days. At least I hope so.

I think they have to do that before they put him back on the PS.

He's the kind of guy that makes it easy to be a fan of his.

He's 6'11" now too!

I think this is great for Bates. Hope it will lead to some PT. Congratulations

Hope they're doing this just to get him back on the practice squad.

Rex Ryan correctly called this a "Bush League" move, and I'd agree.

And here is the take on Mitchell's overall play in Pittsburgh, warning, it is not flattering!

What's interesting to me is that it seems none of his teammates endorse or defend the play. They all conceded the loss.

I call BS. It was a one score game If Mike had forced a fumble and Pittsburgh somehow won the game, Mike would be a hero and that highlight would be shown on ESPN 50,000 times.

The Steelers organization does not agree.

Interesting article, but I still wonder what the coach's response would have been if Mike had been successful. Would he have refused to accept the turnover? Would he have instructed his team not to try and score?

It was a bush league play, simple. And some in the Pittsburgh media has began terming him Mr. zero

That's a load of crap. If Troy Polamalu would have done it, it would have been a completely different rhetoric.

Makes no sense to criticize Mike for his effort, if only due to the context of the comments. What's bush league is an on-side kick with your team down by 2 scores and a minute left. Massive collisions, limbs twisted in every direction, etc. etc.

If a kneel down is a "professional", gentlemanly NFL play, it's the only one.

How about if a team in possession at the 2 minute warning is leading, let's just end the game and let everyone go home.

Let's hear what Herm Edwards has to say about it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miracle_at_the_Meadowlands

Wayne, I thought you always defended all Bobcat players and coaches, current and former, against all attacks on BA.com. What gives with your about face when it comes to Mitchell? Just playing devil's advocate again?

Was linking a news article, did not know that was a crime. And you need more research ;-)
